We are currently seeking a dynamic, strategic, and highly experienced finance leader to join our organization as Executive Director, FP&A – Technology & Quality (T&Q). This senior leader will serve as the primary finance partner to the Chief T&Q Officer, providing strategic decision support across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, CMC, and Cell Therapy Manufacturing.
This role is responsible for setting the financial direction for T&Q, leading a team of finance professionals in delivering robust planning, forecasting, inventory analytics, and cost insights. The Executive Director will provide vision, cross-functional leadership, and mentorship to a team responsible for daily financial operations, while focusing on driving business transformation, strategic alignment, and capability building as the organization scales.
Responsibilities
Strategic Finance Leadership
- Serve as a key financial advisor to the Chief T&Q Officer and senior operational leaders, influencing decision-making through deep financial insight.
- Lead strategic initiatives in cost transparency, inventory efficiency, and resource allocation to support T&Q’s operational and long-term objectives.
- Provide leadership and direction to a team of FP&A and cost accounting professionals, ensuring high performance and alignment to business goals.
Financial Planning & Oversight
- Direct annual planning, forecasting, and long-range modeling for global product COGS, operating expenses, and headcount.
- Ensure financial frameworks and models developed by the team support data-driven decisions and scenario planning.
- Guide the team in executing timely and accurate monthly close activities and financial reporting.
Cross-Functional Business Partnership
- Oversee finance engagement with Commercial Demand Planning, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing on production, performance, and inventory controls.
- Partner with SMPS, Tax, and Accounting on management of complex intercompany transactions and financial compliance.
- Collaborate with R&D Finance to support integrated reporting and consolidation of T&Q financials.
Operational Excellence & Reporting
- Sponsor development of standardized reporting tools and dashboards that deliver transparency and business insights.
- Ensure team executes ad hoc analysis and executive-ready financial packages with clarity and actionable commentary.
- Champion continuous improvement and automation efforts to enhance financial processes and operational scalability.
Organizational Development
- Set vision and goals for the T&Q Finance team; develop talent through coaching, feedback, and performance management.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation within the finance function.
- Build strong relationships across Finance, R&D, Technical Operations, and other key stakeholders to enable integrated planning and execution.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive finance experience, including team leadership in FP&A, operational finance, and cost accounting within biotech/pharma or a complex manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of leading finance teams and scaling capability in a high-growth organization.
- Deep understanding of inventory management, product costing, and intercompany accounting.
- Executive presence and ability to communicate financial insights to both finance and non-finance leaders.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP), financial planning tools (e.g., Hyperion), and data visualization platforms.
The base salary range for this role is $234,400 to $293,300. Base salary is part of our total rewards package which also includes the opportunity for merit-based salary increases, short incentive plan participation, eligibility for our 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances and leaves provided in line with your work state. Our robust time-off policy includes flexible paid time off, 11 paid holidays plus additional time off for a shut-down period during the last week of December, 80 hours of paid sick time upon hire and each year thereafter. Total compensation, including base salary to be offered, will depend on elements unique to each candidate, including candidate experience, skills, education and other factors permitted by law.
