Job Summary: 

Micron is seeking a highly motivated Equipment Maintenance Technician to monitor, sustain, and improve equipment in their assigned area. This position requires collaboration with Shift Operations team members, area equipment engineers, and tool vendors to ensure efficient tool performance and maintenance in a dynamic, brand-new technology and manufacturing environment. Equipment Maintenance Technicians support fabrication processing at the forefront of innovation for the world’s leading memory and storage solution provider, Micron Technology. Responsibilities:  

  • Ability to collaborate with team members and communicate and address preventative maintenance needs for manufacturing equipment performance, while proactively identifying and resolving safety concerns. 
  • Identify performance gaps and implement strategic improvements, while documenting hardware and process deviations to help prevent recurring problems in tool functionality.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the cleanroom area with hazardous chemicals by adhering to housekeeping protocols, ensuring that every item is properly stored and organized.
  • Participate in teams focused on enhancing equipment availability and implementing improvement initiatives. 
  • Attend Micron and/or vendor training to improve understanding of various semiconductor tools. 
  • Stand for long periods, walk several miles per shift, lift 25–40 lbs occasionally, and perform tasks requiring bending, crouching, or kneeling while navigating safely over uneven terrain or within confined spaces to perform job duties effectively. 
  •  Maintain situational awareness to identify hazards promptly, and consistently wear required PPE (e.g., respirators, cleanroom garments) to protect product quality and maintain a safe, contamination-free environment.
  • Working and leading projects related to manufacturing equipment maintenance and improvement, with a focus on meeting scope, schedule, and budget requirements. 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Associate degree in relevant technical fields such as Mechatronics, Electronics, or Robotics and/or 2 years of experience in maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, and/or technical military experience. 
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts (3 days on/4 days off and 4 days on/3 days off), progress and the ability to rotate every 3 months (1 pm -1 am), and or adapt to different shifts and overtime as needed to support business operations.
  • capability to operate safely around hazardous chemicals
  • 2 years of experience performing preventative maintenance and repair on manufacturing equipment, ensuring minimal downtime, and maintaining industrial equipment, automation. 
  • 2 years of experience in using mechanical, electronic, and PC/software skills to fix and resolve manufacturing equipment issues. 
  • 2 years’ experience maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, and/or technical military experience. 

Preferred Requirements: 

  • 4+ years’ experience in maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, and/or technical military experience. 
  • 4+ years’ experience in leading projects related to manufacturing equipment maintenance and improvement, with a focus on meeting scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
