Job Location:   Charlotte Based – Covering (U.S. and Canada) 

Position Summary: 

The Equipment analyst is responsible for executing equipment processes to support customer demand, while supporting efficient and optimal equipment flow and planning.  

E&E Analyst responsible for but not limited to: 

Equipment Execution Management 

  • Ownership of equipment inventories within their assigned region, ensuring most optimal flow planning and inventory management at lowest cost possible.  
  • Ensure that equipment flows are balanced and aligned to support availability per customer demands. Supporting customer centricity and company growth. 
  • Plan and support empty flows, ensuring empties are accessible and available for repositioning and vessel evacuation.  Ensure vessels sail full. 
  • Manage terminal and depot empty inventories to adequate levels, perform regular reconciliation of vendor yard inventory to Maersk systems (COMETROCK )  
  • Work closely with terminal, depot, rail, truck vendors to support empty planning. 
  • Work closely with vendors, Container Sales Team, Global Service Center, to support and execute the container sales program.  (out-fleet of aging equipment.)  
  • Support redelivery of off hire / one way containers with local motor carriers.  
  • Actively work with vendors on needed strategy to reduce equipment dwell / longstandings. 
  • Support and coordinate release of reefer, dry, food grade and OOG equipment  
  • Work closely with commercial teams to support new business and product development.  
  • Work closely with Global Service Center to ensure work orders are processed through dispatch system (TMS) and empty releases are performed to standard. 
  • Cost Ownership:  Always working to reduce empty miles and spend.  Holding vendors accountable, rejecting and disputing unjustified cost.  

Position Specifications (Who we are looking for) 

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent industry experience and training.  
  • Strategic mindset, capable of working in fast paced environment, able to balance priorities and make trade-offs to deliver needed service levels and results.  
  • Proficient with SAP / TMS system and processes a plus 
  • Some travel may be required 
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.  
  • Good organizational and analytical skills; ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. 
  • Continuously looking for process improvements, able to work using “Maersk Way”  
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. 
  • Good interpersonal and management skills, supporting corporate policy and objectives. Promote the Maersk Cultural Amplifiers with all internal and external colleagues (FOCUS, TEAMWORK and SIMPLICITY)  
  • Proficient PC skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications in a networked environment.  Able to learn and adapt with AI technology.   
  • Must be adhere to 5 days return to office policy.
