Generative AI is driving a revolution in coaching and BetterUp is leading the charge. We are looking for a creative and product-minded Engineering Manager to roll up their sleeves and help build the future of coaching alongside our world-class team.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead a team of engineers to deliver Generative AI systems and experiences that set the industry standard for quality and engagement

  • Coach, mentor, and support engineers at a range of levels to do their best work

  • Partner with product management, product design, learning design, and marketing teammates to iterate on and grow first-of-its-kind AI coaching products

  • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and participate in scoping and roadmapping

  • Stay up to date on the state of the art in Generative AI and lead the discussion on how to best leverage the latest technology and build for the future

  • Oversee the scaling of our Generative AI product offerings to millions of users

If you have some or all of the following, please apply:

  • 5+ years of experience as an engineering manager, leading engineers at all levels

  • Experience building machine learning powered products and systems that serve millions of users

  • Experience building with the latest LLMs and other GenAI technologies

  • A track record of attracting top talent and successfully managing and growing engineers at all career levels from Associate to Staff

  • Experience working collaboratively in a cross-functional team and with people at all levels in an organization

  • A high degree of initiative and ownership, combined with the ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt quickly to change

  • Alignment with BetterUp's mission of enabling self-driven behavior change

  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, verbally and in writing

  • A passion for continuous learning, customer empathy, and a desire to innovate within a fast-paced environment.

At BetterUp, we compensate our employees fairly for their work. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, residence location, as well as market indicators. The range below is representative of base salary only and does not include equity, sales bonus plans (when applicable) and benefits. This range may be modified in the future.

The base salary range for this role is $187,000– $323,000.

If you live in New York, the base salary range for this role is: 
$215,000 – $323,000: New York City
$187,000 – $281,000: Albany, Buffalo, Nassau, Newburgh, Rochester, Syracuse
