💻 About the role
We’re looking for an engineering leader to manage Compa’s Agents team. As engineering manager, you’ll lead the team that is responsible for building, shipping, and delivering production-grade AI agents to enterprise customers like Stripe, Block, Roblox, etc.
Compa’s first agents: Partner AI and Analyst AI help the world’s largest companies manage the largest line-item expense on their P&L — compensation.
In this role, you will be on the frontline of a once-in-a-generation technology shift defining how agentic systems are built, deployed, and maintained in the enterprise.
Core responsibilities of this role:
In collaboration with Compa’s, Co-founder & CTO and engineering leads at Compa, develop the technical vision for the future of agentic systems that perform well in production for the world’s leading enterprise companies
Own execution of the technical vision for Compa’s agentic systems
As the engineering leader on a cross-functional team, ensure successful delivery and productionization of Partner AI and Analyst AI with Compa’s initial cohort of enterprise customers
In collaboration with Compa’s customers, Co-founder & Chief Experience Officer, and XFN leads from other functions, define, plan, and deliver an agentic onboarding
Partner with Compa’s Director of Product on the roadmap for Compa’s agentic products
Deep interest, curiosity, and passion for AI systems — experience with AI is nice, not required
Highly influential spoken and written communication with XFN leaders, technical leaders, and customers
Track record of building and operating production systems — AI systems in production is nice, not required
Experience creating new XFN process when it serves the team and deleting process when it is the team serving the process
Experience at a growth-stage startup
Experience at a startup building products for enterprise
Low ego, with an appetite to build, and employ good judgment in making hard trade-offs with limited resources
Effectively recruit, mentor, retain, and measure high performing teams
It’s nice (but not required) if you have experience operating systems that run on cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
It’s nice (but not required) if you have experience working with probabilistic systems (generative AI, conventional AI, ranking, recommendations, etc.)
