SUMARRY:
The Software and Vision Engineer II at Motion Ai will design and develop machine vision algorithms and solutions for industrial 2D & 3D machine vision inspection systems. The systems are deployed to a wide range of industries utilizing an array of vision hardware and software. The Software and Vision Engineer will integrate and build supporting frameworks for use with commercial vision sensor platforms.
The Software and Vision Engineer is responsible for defining the vision design, identifying the sensors, optics and lighting needed to solve the machine vision problems.
You must be eligible to work in the US without Visa Sponsorship.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
BS/MS degree in an Engineering discipline
5 or more Years’ Experience developing machine vision solutions, software applications and systems.
Years of experience and/or academic achievement does not always translate to functional level of the Engineer.

JOB DUTIES:
Define sensors, lighting and optics for solving machine vision problems.
Develop vision system algorithms using third-party toolsets and libraries.
Halcon, Zebra, Cognex, etc.
Design, build and support software library interfaces to common vision tools.
Mechanical and Electrical aptitude is a plus and must have potential to be developed by candidate
Design, build and support software applications (C, C++, C#, .NET, SQL, etc.).
Ability to work on a professional team with a willingness to learn and grow with the company. Cooperate with management in an effective manner to perform high quality.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Prepare and submit reports as required to keep management updated on project status.
Maintain and continually improve technical and professional abilities described above and required to perform assigned tasks.
Proficiency in Office 365
Reporting and Supervision
Software and Vision Engineers report directly to their assigned Department Manager or supervisor.
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
The ability to work with co-workers, customers, and suppliers in a courteous and tactful manner to resolve problems.
Must be able to analyze many variables and choose the most effective course of action given the situation. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure.
Good verbal and written communication skills required.
A motivated, self-starter with the ability to follow directions and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
Excellent time management and organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects.
Maintain professional appearance/demeanor and a positive attitude under stress.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Physical Demands:
20% Domestic and International Travel
May require standing on concrete shop or facility floor for extended periods of time
