Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented Employee Relations Specialist (ER Specialist) to join our ePAC team, reporting directly to the ePAC HR Director of People and Performance. The ER Specialist will support a positive, productive, and legally compliant workplace by serving as a trusted advisor on employee relations matters. This role is responsible for investigating concerns, guiding leaders through performance and conduct issues, ensuring consistent application of policies, and helping shape a workplace culture aligned with organizational values. The ideal candidate brings a strong legal foundation and experience navigating both unionized and nonunion environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct timely, thorough, and unbiased investigations into employee complaints, including those related to harassment, discrimination, code-of-conduct violations, workplace conflicts, and other policy concerns.
- Interpret and apply HR policies, employment laws and regulatory requirements.
- Support the development, review, and implementation of policies and procedures that promote consistency and legal compliance.
- Coach managers and employees on communication, conflict resolution, and effective working relationships.
- Identify trends in workplace issues and propose strategies to strengthen organizational culture.
- Support engagement initiatives, climate assessments, and training tied to ER topics.
- Collaborate with Legal, HR Business Partners, and leadership to mitigate organizational risk and ensure fair and consistent practices.
- Track, analyze, and report employee relations metrics to identify patterns and recommend proactive interventions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field.
- Legal background, such as:
- A Juris Doctor (JD), or
- Paralegal certification with relevant labor/employment law experience, or
- Equivalent experience in employment law or labor relations.
- 3+ years of employee relations experience with demonstrated ability to conduct investigations and support leaders.
- Experience working in both union and nonunion environments. Specifically, with collective bargaining agreements, contract interpretations and supporting labor management meetings
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, Title VII, NLRA, FLSA).
- Ability to analyze data and provide actionable insights to improve employee and organizational performance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting manufacturing, logistics, or operations-based teams.
- Experience partnering with legal teams or serving in a compliance‑driven environment.
- Training or certification in mediation, conflict resolution, or workplace investigations.
