Lifeway is seeking an experienced Email & SMS Marketing Strategist to lead the strategy, execution, and performance of email and SMS campaigns that deepen customer relationships and drive measurable results. In this role, you will own the full campaign lifecycle — from ideation and template development to audience segmentation, A/B testing, and post-send analysis — using enterprise platforms like Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Attentive. This is a remote position in the U.S. with occasional travel to Nashville for in-person team gatherings. #LI-Remote 


Responsibilities
  • Lives out Lifeway’s mission and values, showing deep commitment to Kingdom work
  • Limited travel: 2-4 times per year, typically overnight
  • Strategize, build, and launch end-to-end email and SMS campaigns — from concept through deployment — ensuring on-brand execution, regulatory compliance (CAN-SPAM, TCPA, GDPR), and consistent list hygiene 
  • Develop and maintain responsive email templates using HTML and CSS, creating mobile-friendly, dynamic designs that perform seamlessly across devices and support advanced audience segmentation 
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics (open rates, click-through rates, opt-out rates) and implement A/B testing across subject lines, messaging, and layouts to continuously optimize engagement and conversion 
  • Build and maintain advanced audience segments based on subscriber behavior and demographics to power personalized, targeted messaging strategies 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for email and SMS campaign needs, partnering closely with content, design, and marketing teams to align messaging with organizational goals 
  • Manage campaign timelines, assets, and cross-functional deliverables to consistently hit milestones and KPIs across multi-layered projects 
  • Stay current on digital marketing trends, platform updates, and industry best practices, sharing knowledge with teammates to foster a culture of continuous learning 
  • Support direct mail integration, social media integrations, and data management efforts that complement the broader channel strategy 
Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, required

Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, preferred 

Advanced graduate degree (PhD, etc.), not required


Skills, Knowledge, & Experiences, required

  • Ability to travel to the Middle Tennessee area 2-4 times annually for team gatherings
  • 5+ years of experience managing email and SMS marketing campaigns using enterprise platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Attentive 
  • Proficiency in HTML and CSS for building and troubleshooting responsive, mobile-friendly email templates 
  • Strong audience segmentation and data analysis skills, using subscriber behavior and demographics to drive targeted campaign strategies 
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute A/B tests and interpret results to optimize campaign performance 
  • Proven project management skills with experience coordinating multi-layered campaigns across cross-functional teams 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior-level stakeholders 
  • Working knowledge of email marketing regulations including CAN-SPAM, TCPA, and GDPR 

Actively involved in an evangelical Christian church


Skills, Knowledge, & Experiences, preferred 

  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud advanced features including Journey Builder, Data Extensions, AMPscript, and Marketing Cloud Connect 
  • Familiarity with analytics and reporting tools, marketing automation platforms, and testing technologies 
  • Exposure to JavaScript for advanced campaign development and dynamic content 
  • Experience managing direct mail integration and social media platform integrations
