BR+A is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer in our Charlotte, NC office. The candidate will be strongly motivated, well organized, and show professional initiative, as well as be able to take ownership of assignments and perform well both independently and as part of the project team.


Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Providing Engineering, Design work and drafting of plans;
  • Implementing approved system concepts from a schematic diagram to floor plans;
  • Sketching rough layouts to review with Project Engineer/Project Manager;
  • Reviewing product cut sheets and technical information;
  • Communicating with Project Manager/Project Engineer regarding potential problems;
  • Meeting with vendors to determine spatial requirements for the application of the product;
  • Attending meetings as required;
  • Working to submit the required documentation per project deadlines and milestones;
  • Developing a strategy to meet the projects’ schedule;
  • Assisting in the development of engineering systems concepts (M/E);
  • Assisting the design team on major design issues;
  • Organizing required technical correspondence, emails, and calculations;
  • Performing fieldwork and verification of existing conditions;

Essential Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Good understanding of engineering concepts, design, and spatial requirements;
  • Positive attitude, result-driven and team-oriented;
  • Ability to think three-dimensionally;
  • Capable of visiting job sites to perform fieldwork;
  • Ability to manage time to meet deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering;
  • EIT required;
  • PE License preferred;
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience with an emphasis on Healthcare projects.
  • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
