The Electrical Professional Engineer II (PE II) independently performs advanced electrical engineering work, leading the design and coordination of electrical systems for energy and infrastructure projects for healthcare and college campuses. This role is responsible for developing code-compliant, constructible designs—including power distribution, renewable energy, storage, and controls integration—while solving complex technical challenges. The PE II leads portions of projects, coordinates across disciplines, and ensures alignment with existing facilities in active environments. Responsibilities include supporting permitting, procurement, and field execution, maintaining design documentation, and delivering systems that meet performance, reliability, and energy efficiency goals consistent with ENFRA’s design-build delivery model.

• Responsible for signing and sealing engineering documents.
• Leads design and analysis of items such as electrical systems, solar energy, battery energy storage, fuel cell, combined heat and power plants for projects of moderate complexity.
• Develop detailed project deliverables that may include one-line diagrams, load calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
• Perform and review calculations for items such as electrical loads, utility interconnects, arc flash, short-circuit and breaker coordination, and protective device coordination.
• Supports system upgrades, retrofits, expansions, and new installations.
• Conducts site visits, field assessments, and data collection to support project development. May coordinate and plan 3D laser scanning efforts.
• Evaluate the quality of field – collected data prepared by junior staff.
• Coordinates across disciplines including mechanical, controls, and construction teams.
• Generate proposals to pursue new work, primarily with existing clients.
• Participate as a member of project interview teams.
• Provide informal mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
• May serve as task lead or discipline lead on assigned projects.
• Interface directly with clients and stakeholders on technical matters.
• Resolve complex technical issues independently.
• Perform work with a high degree of autonomy and professional judgement.

• Bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering, electrical engineering, or related field
• 7+ years of design experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) License
• Advanced knowledge of electrical power and building systems
• Experience with system coordination, protection, and controls integration
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary designs

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Experience leading electrical workstreams

• 10-25% of time will be spent traveling to job sites.

• Prolonged periods of office work sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
