Position Overview

Blue Acorn iCi is seeking an EDS Front End Architect to lead the design and development of high-performance, scalable, and maintainable front-end architectures leveraging Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and Adobe Edge Delivery Services (EDS). This role will drive the implementation of complex digital experiences across enterprise platforms while ensuring alignment with best practices, brand standards, performance, accessibility, and customer expectations.

You will collaborate closely with UX, engineering, product, and architecture teams to deliver scalable, personalized, and high-performing digital experiences. The ideal candidate combines deep front-end architecture expertise with hands-on Adobe Edge Delivery Services experience and a passion for modern web development.

Key ResponsibilitiesArchitecture & Technical Leadership
  • Define, design, and document front-end architecture for enterprise-scale web applications integrated with Adobe Edge Delivery Services (EDS) and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
  • Establish coding standards, performance optimization strategies, and scalability plans for front-end solutions.
  • Ensure architectural alignment with accessibility (WCAG 2.1), security, and compliance standards.
  • Lead the overall EDS migration architecture and technical approach.
  • Assess websites and define migration patterns and implementation best practices.
  • Identify technical dependencies, risks, and architectural considerations.
  • Develop migration methodology and a scalable implementation approach.
  • Support effort estimation, delivery planning, and technical governance.
Solution Development
  • Lead the development of reusable front-end components and templates leveraging Adobe Edge Delivery Services, AEM SPA Editor, and React (preferred) or Angular.
  • Integrate Adobe Experience Manager with Adobe Experience Cloud solutions, including Adobe Target, Adobe Analytics, and Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO), to deliver personalized, data-driven experiences.
  • Implement responsive, cross-browser, and cross-platform solutions.
Collaboration & Mentorship
  • Partner with backend teams to define API contracts and ensure seamless integration between services and front-end applications.
  • Mentor developers, conduct code reviews, and foster a high-performing engineering culture.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI teams to ensure design fidelity and optimal user experiences.
Technical Strategy
  • Stay current with emerging front-end frameworks, Adobe technology updates, and industry best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage Adobe Edge Delivery Services for improved content delivery, personalization, and experience optimization.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement across deployment pipelines, CI/CD processes, and automated testing for front-end codebases.
Required Skills & ExperienceTechnical Skills
  • 8+ years of professional front-end development experience, including 3+ years in an architect or technical lead role.
  • Proven expertise in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) front-end development, particularly AEM SPA Editor.
  • Hands-on experience with Adobe Edge Delivery Services (EDS), including configuration, deployment, and integration.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React (preferred) or Angular, HTML5, CSS3, and SASS.
  • Solid understanding of REST and GraphQL API integration, asynchronous data handling, and caching strategies.
  • Experience with performance tuning, code splitting, and lazy loading for large-scale applications.
  • Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards, and SEO optimization.

  • Familiarity with cloud hosting platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Experience with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
  • Knowledge of headless CMS architectures and JAMstack approaches.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $150,000–$210,000 annually. Actual compensation may vary depending on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
