Director, Wealth & Planning Solutions

The Director, Wealth & Planning Solutions will work as a key member of the Wealth Solutions team at AssetMark, Inc.  In this capacity, the Director will report to the VP, Wealth Solutions Product and work with senior leaders to define vision, scope and roadmap for wealth solutions and planning services offered to over 12,000 financial advisor clients partnering with AssetMark.  If you’ve been looking for a high-profile role at a dynamic, growth-oriented company where your deep understanding of wealth solutions and planning will be utilized and appreciated, this new position could be a compelling next step in your career.

The Director will partner closely with the SVP of Wealth Solutions & Advanced Planning to develop and execute a strategic roadmap to support a team of planning experts and develop wealth solutions that meet advisors needs.  The Director will take over three existing products, AssetMark’s Securities Backed Line of Credit (SBLOC), AssetMark Charitable, and Self Directed Brokerage Accounts with a mandate to grow these offers and develop new wealth solutions.  In this role you’ll collaborate across Distribution, Marketing, Technology, Legal, Finance, and other functional departments to acquire, develop and enhance our offers to extend financial advisors’ value proposition beyond solely delivering asset management services. 

A well-qualified candidate will be able to lead a team, think flexibly and strategically, and partner effectively across the organization to execute on the strategic roadmap.  You excel in a fast-paced, challenging, collaborative and “hands-on” environment where everyone is in it together.

We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to our Charlotte, NC or Concord, CA office.

Key responsibilities of the position include:

  • Partner closely with the SVP of Wealth Solutions & Advanced Planning and VP of Wealth Solutions Product to define and drive the vision for AssetMark’s wealth and planning solutions.
  • Effectively manages and communicates product vision, strategy, OKR/KPIs and reporting
  • Develops top-grade executive presentations and leads discussions that support decision alignment or promote awareness with leadership teams.
  • Partners closely with cross-functional teams to execute on strategic plans, leading to a modern digital experience and well-versed sales and service teams
  • Craft & execute on clear pipeline plans to research/analyze issues, explore new ideas and solutions, and work towards decisions.
  • Support sales by championing the solution set through various distribution channels and address product competitiveness and positioning with target client segments.
  • Lead and support the professional development of junior staff

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or other related fields.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.

Knowledge / Skill Requirements

  • Extensive and direct experience in the product strategy and development of wealth management solutions such as cash, lending, retirement, or other wealth offers that can connect directly to or adjacent to an advisory account.  Private banking experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of Broker-Dealer and RIA, including how TAMPs function within our industry is helpful, not required.
  • Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills with ability to leverage quantitative and qualitative approaches to develop actionable recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Self-motivated, biased toward action, capable of defining objectives and delivering workstreams start to finish with limited oversight.
  • Ability to evaluate risks and the impact of decisions on an overall organization
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.  Comfortable with all levels of management and able to communicate and present effectively to executive audiences.
  • Personality that thrives in a fast moving, quickly changing atmosphere.
  • Partners well with colleagues and outside business partners to get work done.
  • A positive, team oriented, can-do attitude.

Additional Requirements

  • Limited travel approximately 10-15% depending on the business need.

Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $200,000-$220,000.  

 

This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits. 

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
