Job Description:
Overseeing commodities and strategic sourcing, the Director, Supply Chain is responsible for designing and executing North American supply chain strategies across BWPS manufacturing sites, while also shaping global commodity initiatives in alignment with BW Corporate Commodity Team priorities.
This is a high-impact position that requires close collaboration with site leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. The Director will champion continuous improvement, drive standardization of supply chain best practices, and foster supplier performance excellence. They will provide ongoing reporting and actionable insights to ensure consistent implementation and measurable results across all sites.
Key Responsibilities/Complexities:
- Drive development and improvement for all sites to achieve consistent improvements in strategic activities such as lead time reduction, purchase price variance, support global level loading, accounts payable metrics, supplier inventory turns/consolidation/assessment/report cards, excess/obsolete inventory, and commodity metrics.
- Support and engage the location leadership with regard to promoting a culture where team members are safe, well, and fulfilled.
- Champion Lean culture and practices; act as a strategic resource and provide coaching and guidance on global best practices to all sites; support the CI teams to implement a supply chain best practices roadmap.
- Provide leadership for supply chain employees; lead and support the development of team professionals and create value through the transition from tactical to strategic activities; participate in succession planning in areas of responsibility.
- Develop and implement training methods/materials in multiple languages to instruct on topics such as global sourcing strategy, global level loading, defined numerical analysis, total cost impact vs. individual piece price, robust debit memo process, quality system, annual volume with discrete procurement negotiation, OEM negotiation strategy, and supplier strategy for product development for all NA facilities.
- Strategize and implement policies and practices to take advantage of best cost country manufacturing locations, data collection and analysis to facilitate meaningful decision-making and continuity between facilities, standardization of kitted vs. procured work at each site, lead-time reduction, flow creation, and cost control and reduction though the monitoring of key commodity forecasts and global negotiation strategies based on annual volume activities and operation in/out sourcing.
- Develop key supply chain professional support on cross-functional change teams; lead obsolete parts notification and early warning signals from key suppliers; develop supplier reports supporting product development and key membership of development teams.
- Build a robust supplier quality system requiring no incoming inspection at BWPS NA sites; implement a visual QIR quality system supporting rapid response of root cause analysis and corrective action from suppliers.
- Oversee and negotiate supplier agreements and contracts in cooperation and compliance with internal client, finance, legal, compliance and procurement strategies; establish global standard negotiations of price, performance, quality terms and conditions with OEM suppliers to ensure integrated solutions, ease of certification and operations supporting our vertical start-up strategy; oversee and assist with negotiation of supplier warranty commitments.
- Partner and support operations by ensuring the attendance of daily touch meetings by supply chain professionals; implement a supply chain standards meeting at all sites, focusing on the vision and strategy of operational excellence.
- Proactively monitor and maintain current knowledge of supply chain best practices within the industry.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 15 - 20 years of progressive supply chain experience, with a minimum of 8-10 years of leadership experience; the ideal candidate will have progressive experience in both sourcing and commodities in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with global supply chain policies and practices.

- Demonstrated sound business and professional ethics; consistency with principles, values, behaviors; ability to build trust through authenticity and follow-through on commitments.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
Travel:
- 50 - 75% of primarily domestic travel, with occasional international travel
The approximate pay range for this position is $160,000 - 185,000 base salary plus additional discretionary incentive. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Our complete benefits package includes: medical, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off; 401k plan with company match. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
