Description:

Join our dedicated team as a Director in our Substation group! You’ll oversee multiple large and complex projects and programs, leading a team of talented engineers and senior technical leaders. Your role is crucial in ensuring the success of our projects and the satisfaction of our clients.

Key Responsibilities: 

You’ll be responsible for the technical oversight, mentorship, and direction of engineering teams working on a portfolio of projects or multiple individual projects for various clients. You’ll collaborate with other departments to execute the engineering and design components of projects, leveraging the knowledge and experience of your team. Mentoring, training, and supporting your engineers will be a key part of your role. You’ll partner with project managers to plan, direct, and monitor project teams, ensuring all technical aspects of substation engineering are executed effectively. You’ll also monitor technical resources and workload forecasts, manage the scope, schedule, and budget, and ensure the overall quality and technical accuracy of project designs.

In this role, you are enabled to be at the forefront of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and utilizing tools such as, Microsoft Copilot, bespoke AI workflow tools, and an IT team dedicated to continuous improvement and innovation to enhance our operations and drive efficiency. All employees can engage with the Digital Transformation Team to support the integration of new tools and following employee ideas to drive success for the business. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited engineering school.
  • At least 8 -10 years of experience related to working within substation facilities.
  • Experience with substation automation, protective relaying, grounding systems, and equipment (transformers, circuit breakers, and switchgear).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred experience of 1-3 years at Director level role.
  • Professional Engineer licensure by examination or must be preparing to take the PE exam in the short term.
