The Role

We are seeking a Director of Provider Operations to serve as the strategic and operational owner of our provider organization. This leader will own the full provider lifecycle—from hiring and onboarding through engagement, performance, and retention—and build the systems, strategies, and experiences that enable providers to deliver exceptional care at scale.

This is a highly cross-functional, high-impact role at the center of our business. You will define how we build, deploy, support, and retain our provider network across W2 and 1099 models, ensuring we have the right providers, in the right places, at the right time—while creating a best-in-class provider experience.

What You’ll Own

Provider Lifecycle & Experience

  • Own the end-to-end provider lifecycle across W2 and 1099 networks—from hiring and onboarding through engagement, performance, retention, and offboarding.

  • Design and continuously improve a best-in-class provider experience, including community, feedback loops, and engagement strategies.

  • Establish and track key metrics (satisfaction, engagement, retention, tenure) and translate insights into operational and product improvements.

  • Partner with Product and Engineering to build provider-facing experiences that improve efficiency and reduce friction

  • Monitor provider performance metrics in collaboration with Clinical Operations and Quality leads and assist in providing feedback and performance coaching as it relates to quality of care, productivity, and efficiency

Workforce Strategy, Supply & Hiring

  • Define and execute the provider workforce strategy aligned to business growth, demand, and regulatory requirements.

  • Own provider supply planning, including capacity forecasting, state expansion strategy, and licensing approach.

  • Partner with Recruiting to build high-quality pipelines and drive hiring outcomes (time-to-fill, quality, early retention), ensuring the right provider mix (MD vs NP, W2 vs 1099).

Performance, Productivity & Economics

  • Own provider performance frameworks across quality, productivity, and efficiency.

  • Monitor and optimize provider utilization and capacity across networks.

  • Design compensation and incentive models aligned with outcomes, and continuously evaluate provider unit economics to drive cost-effective, scalable growth in partnership with Clinical and Finance.

  • Own provider payment operations, including 1099 invoicing accuracy, timeliness, and transparency

Strategy, Operations & Infrastructure

  • Own the strategy and operating model for the 1099 network, including when and how to leverage it alongside W2 providers.

  • Lead provider operations infrastructure, including payment systems, workflows, and tools to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Clinical, and Operations to build systems and experiences that reduce friction and enable high-quality care delivery at scale.

QualificationsRequired
  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare operations, provider operations, or workforce management

  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing provider teams and/or large-scale clinical operations

  • Proven track record of building and scaling provider or workforce operations in high-growth environments

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with experience managing capacity, utilization, and cost

  • Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Finance, and Recruiting teams

Preferred
  • Experience in telehealth, digital health, or value-based care models

  • Deep experience working closely with clinicians

  • Experience managing both W2 and 1099 workforce models

What Success Looks Like
  • A highly engaged, high-performing provider network with strong retention and tenure

  • Scalable provider operations that support rapid business growth without compromising quality

  • Optimized provider mix (MD vs NP/PA, W2 vs 1099) aligned with cost and care model

  • Best-in-class provider onboarding and time-to-productivity

  • Strong provider satisfaction and community engagement

  • Efficient, accurate provider payment and operations systems

  • Clear, data-driven provider strategy tied to business outcomes

Why Join Us
  • Shape the future of provider operations in a high-growth telehealth company

  • Build and lead a critical function at the center of the business

  • Work alongside mission-driven clinicians, operators, and technologists

  • Competitive compensation, equity, and benefits
