The Director of Procurement is expected to be a sourcing expert for a certain set of categories such as Technology, Engineering, Security, Marketing and potentially Professional Services, Real Estate. This person in this role would act as the Procurement ambassador to the business and integrate into the business to ensure a complete alignment and deep understanding of the business goals and partner in developing sourcing strategies. The goal is to be value-added sourcing partners to the business. The person in this position will manage a team of Category Managers and Senior Category Managers. The person will ensure that their business owners are supported in a fast-paced, tight deadlines environment. This Director will report directly to the VP of Procure-to-Pay. 

About this roll*  

Individual Contract and Negotiations (40%)

    • Lead negotiations on key commercial procurement agreements, drive contract negotiation and execution with new / existing vendors and work with the legal, finance and stakeholders for timely executions of contracts. 
    • Identify and evaluate business risks in contracts and advise the business owner of their performance obligations to mitigate said risk. 
    • Add value by becoming the subject matter expert on categories/commodities and consulting internal clients on industry trends, benchmarking, and best practices
    • Drive meaningful cost savings across key spend areas and large vendor contracts. 

Team Leadership (30%)

    • Manage and take responsibility for work quality, deliverables and productivity of the team, including lead, develop Category Managers and Sr. Category Managers 
    • Provide strong, hands-on leadership to the team and cultivate a culture of accountability, curiosity and operational excellence.
    • Coordinate the team’s day to day procurement functions such as operational (PO) process execution, new vendor onboarding, renewing contracts, review and approve purchase requisitions. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement (30%) 
    • Work directly and partner with stakeholders to proactively drive initiatives within the existing supply base and provide leadership in all vendor and sourcing activities.
    • Provide high quality customer service to internal clients in driving savings and implementing efficient contract negotiations to close out projects
    • Lead cross-functional meetings with various business functions and develop a communication strategy to keep internal clients informed about procurement processes, supplier strategy, and procurement policies.

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

  • 12+ years of procurement experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, IT, Engineering or other closely related field
  • Working knowledge of contract law and contract management
  • Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Workday/Oracle/SAP/Netsuite or any ERP system. eSourcing and Contract Management software required

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions, if eligible), benefits, and equity (if eligible).

Pay Range
$160,000$256,000 USD
