Salary Range: $150,000 - $200,000

The Opportunity

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of People  to lead our HR business partner function, elevate people operations, and drive enterprise-wide organizational design initiatives. In this critical leadership role, you will be a key architect of scalable people strategies that enable growth, foster culture, and enhance business performance.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partnership

  • Serve as a senior advisor to department leaders, providing insights on workforce planning, talent strategy, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align HR initiatives with business objectives across multiple departments and global locations.
  • Lead a team of HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to deliver high-impact support to business units.

People Operations Leadership

  • Oversee the design and execution of core people processes, including onboarding, HRIS management, compliance, and employee lifecycle operations.
  • Implement data-driven solutions to optimize operational efficiency and enhance employee experience.
  • Ensure all people operations are compliant with federal, state, and international employment laws.

Organizational Design & Development

  • Lead the strategy, design, and implementation of scalable organizational structures that align with business objectives, enable cross-functional collaboration, and support Kargo’s ongoing growth and transformation.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to senior and cross-functional leadership in assessing organizational effectiveness, identifying capability gaps, and designing future-ready operating models.
  • Develop and execute enterprise-wide change management strategies to support structural shifts, business transformations, and cultural evolution.
  • Drive end-to-end talent planning initiatives, including company-wide talent reviews, succession planning, workforce planning, and leadership development programs to build a strong internal pipeline and ensure long-term organizational resilience.
  • Champion a data-driven approach to organizational development, leveraging insights to inform strategic workforce decisions and foster a high-performance culture.

Leadership & Culture

  • Champion a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace culture through values-based leadership and policy development.
  • Collaborate with Learning & Development and DEIB leaders to foster employee engagement and continuous development.
  • Lead strategic HR projects including M&A integration, internal mobility frameworks, and performance management redesigns.
Qualifications
  • 7 + years of progressive HR experience 
  • Proven experience leading HRBPs and people operations in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Deep expertise in organizational design, change management, and talent strategy.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance frameworks (global experience a plus).
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's or MBA preferred.
  • HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) are a plus.
