Citizens Capital Markets is seeking an experienced Director/Managing Director to join its High Yield Sales & Trading team. This role is centered on risk management, liquidity provision, price discovery, and balance‑sheet optimization across the high yield credit complex. The successful candidate will play a critical role in secondary market trading, primary issue pricing and allocation, and firm‑wide market leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and actively manage High Yield trading risk across cash bonds and related instruments, with disciplined balance‑sheet deployment.
  • Drive revenue generation through market‑making, relative‑value trading, and tactical risk positioning.
  • Partner closely with High Yield Syndicate and Investment Banking on new issue pricing, distribution strategy, allocations, and aftermarket performance.
  • Provide real‑time market color, liquidity insight, and pricing intelligence to sales, syndicate, research, and banking teams.
  • Evaluate and manage firm inventory, liquidity constraints, and capital usage in line with risk and return objectives.
  • Serve as a senior market voice with clients on execution strategy, market structure, and technical dynamics.
  • Mentor and develop junior traders; contribute to a high‑performance, risk‑aware trading culture.
  • Maintain strict adherence to regulatory, supervisory, and internal risk management requirements.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of High Yield Trading experience or closely related credit markets role.
  • Deep expertise in High Yield market structure, pricing, liquidity, and relative‑value dynamics.
  • Proven ability to generate P&L through disciplined risk management and market insight.
  • Strong judgment balancing client facilitation, risk, and firm profitability.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate market views internally and externally.
  • Series 7 and 63 licenses required (or ability to obtain promptly).

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40+
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
