This individual will play a dynamic, multi-faceted role: supporting advisors in structuring allocations and investment proposals, advising on Mariner’s suite of investment solutions, creating customized outputs for advisors and clients, and championing investment strategy initiatives to enhance client engagement and foster business growth with both existing and prospective clients.

As a prominent communications leader, the Director will consistently deliver actionable, holistic investment guidance, both internally and to clients. Success in this position requires exceptional communication and organizational skills, a deep understanding of Mariner’s investment offerings, and strong analytical capabilities to create meaningful resources that empower both advisors and clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with advisors to develop investment and allocation proposals, support client consultations, and deliver high-stakes presentations that reinforce the consistent and effective use of Mariner’s investment platform.

  • Lead the creation of investment proposals, collaborating with advisors on modeling and analytics, designing outputs and graphics, and crafting effective messaging for various client objectives.

  • Serve as a central contact point to enhance connectivity between the Investment Strategy team, advisors, and Mariner’s internal strategies—particularly within equity-focused strategies—and coordinate outreach and messaging across fixed income, structured notes, options, and private investments.

  • Act as a thought partner, developing allocation models, advisor tools, resources, and investment collateral for both advisors and clients, in collaboration with the Managing Director and Investment Strategy Team.

  • Represent Mariner Investments in client meetings across all segments—from emerging affluent to ultra-high-net-worth clients and prospects.

  • Help grow and support the capabilities of the Investment Strategy Team, mentoring investment strategists at all experience levels and guiding education/onboarding specialists.

  • Stay informed on wealth management trends, ensuring the Investment Strategy team and Mariner anticipate and address client needs through innovative investment solutions.

  • Integrate outputs from Research, OCIO, and Internal Strategies to deliver cohesive, client-ready solutions tailored to the unique needs of each business unit.

  • Champion and maintain a culture of message consistency, objectivity, and client-centricity across the entire team.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in investments, wealth management, private banking, consulting, or a related field.

  • Proven expertise in allocation planning and structuring investments to address a diverse range of client objectives.

  • Successful track record in client-facing investment discussions, including engagement with sophisticated UHNW clients and prospects.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Advanced credentials preferred (MBA, CFA, CAIA, or equivalent).

Skills

  • Superior communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex investment concepts to a variety of audiences.

  • Broad investment knowledge across asset classes and portfolio construction, able to represent Mariner’s full suite of offerings.

  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach, with demonstrated success working across functions (Research, OCIO, Internal Strategies, and Business Units).

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Exhibit a team-first mindset with a dedication to fostering collaboration, acting as a thought partner, peer reviewer, and mentor across the Investment Strategy team, from Director to Analyst level.
