The Director of Investment Analytics, Pricing & Reporting is responsible for overseeing the accounting, reporting, and analysis of the company's investment portfolio, which includes a diverse and complex set of asset classes. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of investment-related financial statements in accordance with GAAP, statutory accounting principles, and applicable regulatory requirements. The Director plays a key role in the analysis and reporting of the investment accounting monthly, quarterly and annual results. This individual will provide insight and analysis for portfolio performance, asset valuation, and compliance with investment policy guidelines.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely investment accounting and reporting in accordance with US GAAP, NAIC STAT, and BDA STAT.
  • Collaborate with the internal Investments team and external asset managers to evaluate and execute new, complex investment opportunities.
  • Administer and enhance the investment accounting platform (Clearwater Analytics), including driving automation and data integrity improvements.
  • Analyzing investment income through independent analytics and variance analysis, including identifying and remediating issues in a timely manner. Provide timely, relevant, and insightful investment accounting information to Finance leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Leads investment accounting policy and analytics for the Investment Accounting team, including areas such as GAAP/statutory guidance, due diligence, data analysis, valuations, impairments, data quality management, multi‑basis reporting, vendor diligence, automation projects, and workflow improvements.
  • Evaluate technical accounting implications of new investment structures and monitor emerging accounting guidance.
  • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives that drive operational efficiency, data transparency, and control effectiveness.
  • Other duties as assigned to support Finance and Investment Operations.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Current CPA, CA, or equivalent accounting designation.
  • At least 10 years of relevant post-qualification experience, with a strong focus in investment accounting.
  • Experience interpreting complex accounting guidance and documenting investment structures.
  • Knowledge of multiple investment instruments (fixed income, equity, loans), accrual accounting, and valuation methods
  • Experience managing large and complex investment portfolios and interpreting related accounting requirements.
  • Ensures technical excellence in applying accounting pronouncements and translating guidance into operational processes.
  • Proficiency with Clearwater Analytics or similar investment accounting platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, NAIC statutory accounting, and Bermuda statutory reporting.
  • Experience coaching and developing high-performing teams.
  • Proven track record of delivering timely, high-quality reporting and analysis in a fast-paced environment.
  • Background in evaluating alternative investments.

Required Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Proven ability to work independently, multitask, and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to build trusted relationships across internal teams and with external partners.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Leads and develops a small team of investment accountants.
  • Responsible for recruitment, performance management, mentoring, and professional development.
  • Manages relationships with external consultants, auditors, and service providers related to investment accounting.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
