Position Summary

Growth Team members work directly with company founders, CEOs, management teams and our investing teams to build and scale businesses. They participate in every aspect of identifying, selecting, assessing, and working with portfolio companies to drive value. The position offers a unique 360-degree perspective at the investor, Board, CEO and employee levels into rapidly growing successful businesses.
The Director will be part of the Growth Team and concentrate on building embedded finance / fintech businesses, and will partner with Senior Vice Presidents and Vice Presidents from the Growth Team to work closely with management teams at Serent portfolio companies to drive value creation and accelerate top- line growth.
Successful candidates are highly motivated self-starters, team players, and can partner with and influence a diverse group of stakeholders (e.g., Board Members, CEO, CXO, Partners, etc.).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with company CEOs, management teams, board members, and other Growth Team members to jointly identify and deliver fintech (most notably, although not limited to, payment issuance and acceptance) that achieve portfolio company and investor objectives
• Lead cross-functional project teams (e.g., product, development, operations, marketing, sales, and finance) to deliver new embedded finance products to market
• Partner with Growth Team colleagues on embedded finance pricing and go-to-market strategy and execution, ensuring coordinated execution with other initiatives
• Conduct due diligence – market research, data analysis, and financial modeling – on embedded finance opportunities within target companies, coming to a view on the value and execution plan for initiatives
• Scope, design, and pragmatically lead payment issuance, acceptance, and other embedded finance (e.g., credit, lending, insurance, etc.) strategies and initiatives for portfolio companies
o Critical to this point is understanding and constructing the workflows and pre-requisites that enable embedded finance opportunities (e.g., procure to pay, bill to pay, etc.)
• Negotiate solution partnerships with third parties across the embedded finance ecosystem (e.g., Corpay, Priority, Melio, Brex, Stripe, Adyen) that will power many of our embedded finance plays within our portfolio companies
• Stay abreast of new technologies, partners, and offerings within the embedded finance ecosystem, incorporating new opportunities into portfolio company embedded finance strategies and execution
• Build Serent-specific IP by analyzing data and conducting research to uncover new embedded finance insights, trends, and monetization opportunities
• Contribute to the development of Serent’s proprietary playbooks and frameworks
• Train colleagues and company executives on embedded finance
Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of consulting experience in which some of their case work was in the fintech/ embedded finance space, with experience developing and implementing strategies in multiple companies. Relevant experience in a vertical SaaS company is not a requirement but would be ideal. The successful Director will be entrepreneurial, capable of product and project managing multiple initiatives, powered by partnerships, working with cross-functional teams to bring these offerings to market or “turbocharging” existing products through improved features and functionality. They will be an intellectually curious, open-minded, and well-rounded leader with exceptional interpersonal, influencing and problem-solving skills. They will have enthusiasm and a strong aptitude for developing solutions for software and tech-enabled services companies. The successful Director will thrive in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment that supports the business strategy.

Compensation

 Base salary between $105,000 - $135,000 (USD). Placement within this range and bonus potential will vary based on experience and skill level.
