Lead the evolution of FloQast's platform by defining technical strategies, building high-performing teams, and ensuring robust data management and compliance.
We are seeking a visionary and technically astute Director of Engineering to lead the evolution of FloQast’s platform. This leader will define and drive the technical strategy for a scalable, secure, and API-first architecture that empowers rapid product development, robust data management, and seamless integration across the ecosystem. You will build and lead a high-performing engineering organization and play a critical role in shaping the future of our platform in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
This is a hybrid role with three days per week Onsite in our Bay Area or Los Angeles locations

What You'll Do
- Own the architectural direction and technical roadmap of FloQast’s platform, including core services (Authentication, Authorization, RBAC, Audits, Data Platform, Micro service architecture and contracts), APIs, integration patterns, and data models
- Champion an API-first approach to accelerate product delivery
- Recruit, mentor, and scale a world-class platform engineering team
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and accountability
- Drive adoption of modern engineering practices such as microservices, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code
- Define enterprise-wide data models, canonical sources of truth, and governance frameworks
- Ensure data integrity, accessibility, and compliance across internal and external systems
- Develop standardized patterns for inter-service communication, cross-application workflows, and external integrations
- Promote consistency and efficiency in how systems interact and evolve
- Establish platform-wide engineering standards, reference architectures, and design principles
- Implement API governance models including versioning, security, and lifecycle management
- Ensure platform architecture adheres to financial services-grade security, compliance, and regulatory standards
- Design systems for high availability, performance, and scalability to support future growth
What You'll Bring
- 15+ years of software engineering experience, including 8+ years in platform engineering leadership roles
- Proven experience managing high-performing engineering teams and growing engineers up to and through the senior staff level.
- Strong expertise in distributed systems, data infrastructure, modern data technologies (e.g., Kafka, Spark, BigQuery), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
- Strategic thinker who can translate business goals into scalable technical platforms
- Inspirational leader with a track record of building high-performing, empowered engineering teams

This job posting is for our Head of Platform Engineering, the base pay range for this position is $188,000 - $282,000. Compensation is not limited to base salary. FloQast values our Total Rewards, and offers a competitive and elaborate Benefits Package including, but not limited to, Medical, Dental, Vision, Family Forming benefits, Life & Disability Insurance, and Unlimited Vacation. FloQast reserves the right to amend, change, alter, and revise pay ranges and benefits offerings at any time.
