Position Summary:

As the Director of Business Development, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of MeridianLink’s Demand Generation initiatives. You will be responsible for spearheading pipeline generation efforts, leading a team of highly motivated Business Development Representatives (BDRs), and fostering strong partnerships with the Sales and the Marketing team. Your strategic vision, leadership abilities, and expertise in SaaS business development will be instrumental in expanding market presence and driving revenue growth for MeridianLink.

Expected Duties:

1. Pipeline Generation Strategy:

- Develop and execute a comprehensive pipeline generation strategy aligned with the company's overall business goals and objectives.

- Identify new market opportunities, target industries, and potential customer segments to increase the company's market share and drive revenue growth.

- Utilize market research and data-driven insights to identify potential leads and optimize lead generation efforts.

2. Leadership of Business Development Team:

- Build, train, and manage a high-performing team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs) responsible for prospecting, lead qualification, and initial customer engagement.

- Motivate and mentor the BDR team to consistently achieve and exceed their performance targets.

- Implement performance metrics and regular assessments to measure individual and team progress, providing coaching and feedback for continuous improvement.

3. Sales and Marketing Collaboration:

- Collaborate closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to align business development efforts with sales goals and marketing initiatives.

- Work closely with the Marketing team to develop and optimize demand generation campaigns that support lead generation efforts and maximize conversion rates, meetings set and meetings held.

- Facilitate seamless handoffs of qualified leads to the Sales team, ensuring clear communication and efficient sales processes.

4. Performance Analysis and Reporting:

- Monitor and analyze business development KPIs and metrics regularly to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

- Provide detailed reports and presentations to the executive team, highlighting the team's performance, pipeline status, and actionable insights.

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Proven track record of at least 5 years in Business Development within the SaaS industry.

- Demonstrated experience in successfully leading and motivating a team of business development professionals.

- Strong understanding of SaaS business models, market trends, and customer needs.

- Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Results-oriented mindset with a proven ability to meet and exceed revenue targets.

- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using data-driven insights to inform business decisions.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and ever-evolving startup environment.
