As a Digital Workplace Productivity Engineering Manager, you will lead a team responsible for delivering and operating Capital Group’s most critical productivity platforms, including enterprise email, calendaring, messaging, and core collaboration services. These capabilities underpin how the firm communicates, makes decisions, and serves clients at scale.

You will be accountable for ensuring these platforms are secure by default, highly reliable, compliant, and optimized for performance and cost, while continuously evolving them to support modern ways of working—including the responsible adoption of generative AI–powered productivity experiences.

In this role, you will lead a team of engineers who design, build, and operate enterprise‑grade collaboration services. You will be a player‑coach who invests deeply in technical excellence, operational rigor, and the growth of your people.

  • You bring deep experience designing and operating enterprise email and collaboration platforms in highly regulated environments.

  • You have deep expertise in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including core collaboration and productivity services such as OneDrive, SharePoint, Viva Engage (Yammer), and Teams (end‑user and service/operational perspective).

  • You possess deep technical understanding of SMTP, TLS, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and related protocols required to ensure secure, reliable, and trusted enterprise communications.

  • You have an informed knowledge of generative AI concepts and their application to modern productivity scenarios, including drafting assistance, summarization, workflow automation, and risk considerations such as data protection and auditability.

  • You have proven experience as an engineering manager leading a team of engineers and delivering operational outcomes.

  • You have a demonstrated ability to manage distributed teams across multiple sites/time zones and coordinate across onshore/offshore support models.

  • You have a good understanding of product-focused engineering and enjoy working with Product Managers to ensure the efficient delivery of capabilities and commitments.

You have 10+ years of experience working in Engineering technologies and 5+ years leading teams.  Your experience has gained you familiarity with:

  • Building/managing large-scale, robust platforms, utilized across the enterprise especially the Microsoft 365 ecosystem  

  • Leading engineering teams that build and operate highly reliable productivity foundational capabilities, ensuring uptime, performance, and adherence to service SLAs

  • Lead, mentor, and grow engineering teams with a focus on innovation, automation, quality, and continuous improvement

  • Implement monitoring, alerting, configuration drift detection, and operational readiness processes to maintain consistent foundation health

  • Support internal risk management reviews and external audits providing documentation, evidence, and compliance attestation for foundation capabilities

  • Enable financial reporting, cost visibility, and consumption analytics to drive FinOps alignment, cost optimization, and budgeting transparency; partner with Finance on aligning consumption usage with budgets and optimizing spend

  • Serve as the primary liaison with the providers aligning vendor roadmaps, capability adoption, escalations, and incident/change management

  •  Identify and mitigate key risks across security, workforce skills, operational readiness, and technical debt

Charlotte Base Salary Range: $153,842-$246,147

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
