The Cash & Savings team supports Vanguard’s cash management ecosystem, including Cash Plus and Vanguard Cash Deposit. The team evaluates market conditions, competitive rates, client behavior, portfolio performance, and financial outcomes to inform pricing and product decisions.

As a Deposit Pricing & Competitive Intelligence Analyst, you will conduct strategic analysis and develop insights that support Vanguard’s cash products. You will independently investigate trends, connect information from multiple sources, and recommend actions that balance client value, growth, profitability, capacity, and risk.

The Impact You’ll Make: You will strengthen Vanguard’s deposit-pricing, forecasting, scenario-planning, and portfolio-analysis capabilities. Your work will inform decisions that affect the growth, performance, and client value proposition of Cash Plus and Vanguard Cash Deposit.

You will analyze complex data, monitor competitive and economic developments, and translate findings into clear recommendations for leaders and governance forums. Success in this role requires intellectual curiosity, strong analytical judgment, and the ability to distinguish operational issues from broader market or pricing effects.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic, competitive, product, and pricing analyses. Partner with stakeholders to define business questions, analytical approaches, and decision requirements.
  • Analyze complex portfolio, pricing, client, market, and financial data to identify business drivers, risks, opportunities, and actionable insights.
  • Evaluate competitive pricing, deposit betas, price elasticity, interest-rate trends, client behavior, money movement, balance growth, profitability, and forecast performance.
  • Build and enhance analytical tools used to forecast rates and balances, evaluate pricing scenarios, and assess potential financial and business outcomes.
  • Monitor Federal Reserve communications, economic indicators, competitor activity, public disclosures, earnings reports, and market intelligence.
  • Create and present business intelligence findings through executive-ready presentations, dashboards, written recommendations, and governance materials.
  • Partner with product, finance, risk, analytics, marketing, and other stakeholders to evaluate alternatives, validate assumptions, support decisions, and monitor results.
  • Apply a risk-and-control mindset by challenging assumptions, identifying concerns, and maintaining accurate data, models, forecasts, and supporting documentation.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Five years of related experience.
  • An undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data, identify business drivers, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience with forecasting, financial modeling, scenario analysis, pricing analysis, portfolio analytics, or comparable quantitative decision support.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create and present executive-ready insights and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership, independently establish priorities, and work effectively through ambiguity and changing business needs.
  • Strong business judgment, attention to detail, and a risk-and-control mindset.
  • Ability to build effective relationships and collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholder groups.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in banking, fintech, brokerage, wealth management, cash management, or investment products.
  • Experience with deposit pricing, deposit portfolio management, deposit beta, price elasticity, rate forecasting, client segmentation, or tiered pricing.
  • Experience analyzing public disclosures, earnings reports, earnings-call transcripts, economic data, or Federal Reserve policy.
  • Familiarity with cash sweep operations or bank-network products.
  • Experience with Curinos, ProSight, S&P Capital IQ Pro, advanced Excel, Power BI, Tableau, PowerPoint, Archer, SOX controls, or Copilot.

Why Vanguard: At Vanguard, our mission is to take a stand for all investors, treat them fairly, and give them the best chance for investment success.
