The Job At-A-Glance:

The Risk & Fraud team at Q2 is responsible for helping our customers take a proactive stance against fraud and managing the risks of their business.  We build and enhance products that evolve with the ever-changing fraud landscape, delivering tangible value for our customers.  Our solutions enable them to focus more of their time and energy on their mission: best serving their customers and communities.

A Typical Day:

As a Data Scientist on the team, you will work on challenging problems and own projects from end-to-end.  You will work closely with other data scientists, machine learning engineers, and software engineers to deliver valuable solutions to our customers.  In addition, there is opportunity to grow into technical leadership, helping to build new architecture and improve tooling and processes for the team.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Problem definition and requirement refinement.

  • Data exploration, solution prototyping, and model development.

  • Understanding and troubleshooting adjacent systems, including upstream data pipelines and downstream UIs.

  • Testing, monitoring, gathering feedback from customers, and bug fixes.

Bring Your Passion, Do What You Love. Here’s What We’re Looking For:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree; or equivalent related work experience.  

  • Proficient in Python and SQL

  • Familiarity with cloud-native, service-oriented architectures.

  • Experience with most aspects of the software development life cycle.

  • Version control with Git.

  • Experience with machine learning algorithms and packages

This position requires fluent written and oral communication in English.
