About Malbec Labs
Malbec Labs is building decentralized infrastructure at the edge of what’s possible. We're a small, driven team tackling big challenges in networking, crypto, and systems design. We're looking for curious, sharp, and practical minds who want to build—and learn—fast.
The Role
We’re looking for a data scientist or network analyst to join our team. You’ll work directly with engineering and strategy leads to analyze network behavior, develop predictive models, and surface insights that inform protocol and operations decisions.
What You’ll Do
Analyze network performance and behavior across decentralized systems
Develop predictive models and time series analyses
Build and maintain dashboards for internal and external stakeholders
Contribute to scientific computing efforts that drive our strategy
What We’re Looking For
Recent graduate in Math, Physics, Chemistry, or similar
Independent thinker with a bias toward building and experimentation
Experience with network analysis and core data science fundamentals
Strong fluency in:
Python (Pandas, NumPy)
Seaborn / Plotly (visualization)
JupyterLab stack
Familiarity with Grafana and Superset for dashboarding
Exposure to Airtable, InfluxDB, Clickhouse a plus
Bonus points for tinkerers who have built personal projects or contributed to open-source
What You’ll Get
Competitive salary
Token grant
Competitive healthcare and benefits package
High-impact role with a lean, fast-moving team
Autonomy, trust, and the opportunity to shape critical infrastructure from day one
ABOUT DOUBLEZERO
DoubleZero is a decentralized, permissionless protocol that revolutionizes network performance for distributed systems like blockchain. The mission is simple: increase bandwidth and reduce latency.
DoubleZero increases bandwidth by filtering junk data that currently plagues validators and other network operators. DoubleZero reduces latency by connecting these filters with underutilized private fiber links in the form of a mesh network. By combining these improvements and routing the right data through optimized, low-latency paths, the DoubleZero protocol empowers blockchains and other systems to reach performance levels that are currently impossible.
In short, DoubleZero is a new Internet for distributed systems. It is supported by two organizations: DoubleZero Foundation, which drives the adoption, decentralization, security, and advancement of the protocol; and Malbec Labs, which develops the technical components of the protocol itself. We look forward to hearing from you.
