The Data/EDI Specialist is a key member of the National Employee Benefits Technology (EBTech) team. This role supports the implementation and ongoing management of technology solutions that help clients automate benefits administration, maintain compliance, and streamline employee benefit processes.

The Data/EDI Specialist is responsible for analyzing and auditing data, configuring and testing EDI files, supporting software implementations, and delivering solutions that meet client needs. This position works directly with clients, carriers, and vendors while ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to established processes and deadlines. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, customer-focused, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Audit, validate, and upload data for new and existing client implementations, including moderately complex and higher-complexity projects.
  • Configure and maintain new and existing EDI files using third-party software and established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform testing, auditing, and quality assurance reviews of EDI configurations to ensure accurate functionality and successful implementation.
  • Interpret and follow established SOPs while contributing recommendations for process improvements and documentation enhancements.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, vendors, and carrier partners to support service excellence and client retention.
  • Provide direct support to assigned clients and assist with customer service requests and issue resolution.
  • Maintain working knowledge of employee benefits products, services, regulations, and technology platforms to effectively configure and test solutions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot data, file, and system issues.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource during client meetings and implementation discussions.
  • Support and mentor Analysts and Senior Analysts through training, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
  • Promote teamwork, collaboration, and a positive work environment across the department.
  • Ensure individual work meets quality standards and established service expectations.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training related to industry trends, regulations, software solutions, and emerging technologies.
  • Follow all departmental policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
  • Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2–5 years of software implementation, systems configuration, or related experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new technology, processes, and concepts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience working with database applications and large data sets.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Professional telephone and client interaction skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred
  • 2–4 years of experience in an office environment, preferably within insurance, employee benefits, human resources, or financial services.
  • 1–2 years of experience with employee data file management, EDI development, or benefits administration technology.

Pay Range

26 - 28 Hourly

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
