We take ownership, seek excellence, and play to win with the seriousness and camaraderie of an Olympic team. Onebrief operates as an all-remote company, though many of our employees work alongside our customers at military commands around the world.

Founded in 2019 by a group of experienced planners, today, Onebrief’s team spans veterans from all forces and global organizations, and technologists from leading-edge software companies. We’ve raised $320m+ from top-tier investors, including Battery Ventures, General Catalyst, Sapphire Ventures, Insight Partners, and Human Capital, and today, Onebrief is valued at $2.15B. With this continued growth, Onebrief is able to make an impact where it matters most.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Corporate Counsel to join our small legal team. The ideal candidate is a high-velocity generalist who can operate autonomously and deliver exceptional, execution-ready work product. You will act as a strategic partner to leadership while owning the high-stakes execution of our most critical legal work streams.

About You

This is not a role for someone who needs a playbook; it’s for someone who wants to write the playbook. You are a self-starter who thrives on variety—navigating everything from complex open-source licensing to scaling our international footprint. You are expected to own your work entirely, from the first redline of a vendor SaaS agreement to the strategic setup of a new international entity, providing pragmatic, business-first advice along the way.

What You'll Do
  • End-to-End Procurement: Own the entire inbound negotiation process (SaaS, consultants, managed services) from start to finish. You should be comfortable closing high-volume, complex deals with minimal oversight in a fast-pace start up environment.

  • Global People Ops: Partner with our people department to manage domestic and international employment matters, including offer letters, local labor law compliance, and contractor agreements.

  • Litigation and Risk Management: Advise on pending and potential litigation, including employment-related claims. Balance legal risk with business reality by providing pragmatic, market-based guidance that enables smart decision-making under tight timelines.

  • Legal Operations: Develop and refine our legal infrastructure, including templates, workflows, and policies for procurement and contracting.

What We Look For
  • J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and membership in at least one current U.S. state bar membership.

  • 6+ years of legal experience in procurement, technology transactions, and commercial contracting, ideally with a mix of in-house and law firm experience.

  • Experience negotiating inbound technology and services contracts, including SaaS, software licensing, and professional services agreements.

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced startup environments, wearing multiple hats and managing ambiguity.

  • Excellent drafting skills with the ability to craft creative, practical solutions in real time.

  • Outstanding organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities independently.

  • Responsive, service-oriented, and collaborative, with a strong sense of judgment and integrity.

  • Comfortable shifting between strategic thinking and detailed execution

  • Experience with legal workflow or contract management tools (e.g., e-signature, document management, CLM) is a plus.
