The Role:

The Corporate Counsel will help support the legal department by providing practical and business-focused legal advice across a wide range of matters. Reporting directly to the Senior Legal Counsel, this role will partner closely with management, the SVP of Legal & Compliance, Public Affairs, and Compliance to support day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.

The Corporate Counsel will contribute primarily to commercial contract work while also assisting with broader issues such as intellectual property, consumer protection, government & regulatory affairs, litigation, gaming law, dispute resolution, and competition. The role will also provide legal research and advice to business departments across the company, enabling the organization to pursue growth opportunities while effectively managing legal and regulatory risk

What you’ll do:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including vendor, partnership, marketing, and technology contracts.
  • Manage and enhance the company's contract lifecycle management processes.
  • Implement and maintain contract lifecycle management processes, including the use of contract databases.
  • Leverage and promote AI tools to streamline contract drafting, improve review processes, and enhance department efficiency.
  • Provide clear, practical, and business-oriented legal advice to internal stakeholders across departments.
  • Contribute to the department’s gaming law analysis, intellectual property portfolio management and development, and advertising law compliance (truth-in-advertising and consumer protection).
  • Lead the pre-arbitration dispute resolution process for customer claims under the PrizePicks Terms of Service and perform litigation-related legal research tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies while balancing risk and business objectives.
  • Act as a liaison with outside counsel on a wide array of legal matters, overseeing external workstreams to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and alignment with company objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a team-first environment to balance legal risk with business goals.
What you have:
  • J.D. degree and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
  • 3–5 years of legal experience, preferably in a major law firm or in-house setting with a focus on commercial contracts.
  • Experience with Legal Research tools such as LexisPlus
  • Prior experience using contract management systems or databases. Experience with Gatekeeper is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of how to apply AI tools to contract drafting and legal operations.
  • Exceptional client service skills and ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with documentation.
  • Team-first attitude with a willingness to collaborate and support colleagues.
