As Associate Counsel, you will support the day-to-day legal needs of the business across a range of functional areas, including contract negotiation, compliance, data privacy, risk mitigation, and internal legal guidance. This role is ideal for a business-minded attorney who enjoys working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment and is looking to grow in-house experience under the mentorship of more senior counsel.

Key Responsibilities 

Compliance and Risk 

  • Support implementation and maintenance of compliance programs, policies, and internal controls 

  • Conduct legal research and draft guidance on relevant legal and regulatory developments (e.g. marketing) 

  • Assist in handling and tracking legal inquiries, investigations, and risk matters 

Litigation and Dispute Support 

  • Assist in managing pre-litigation matters, subpoenas, and document requests 

  • Support the intake, evaluation, and escalation of internal legal complaints or claims 

  • Coordinate with external counsel as needed for litigation or dispute resolution 

Corporate and IP Matters 

  • Help maintain corporate governance documentation and filings 

  • Support intellectual property registration, enforcement, and portfolio management activities 

  • Review IP and confidentiality provisions in contracts 

Internal Legal Guidance 

  • Serve as a first-line resource for legal questions from internal teams, escalating as appropriate 

  • Help develop and deliver training materials on compliance topics and legal policies 

  • Foster strong working relationships across departments, especially with commercial, product, and HR teams 

 

 

Contracts and Commercial Support 

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts, including vendor agreements, NDAs, and statements of work 

  • Manage and maintain contract templates and contribute to process improvements in contract lifecycle management 

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure contracts reflect both legal requirements and operational needs
