The Role:
The Corporate Counsel, Litigation will serve as a strategic legal advisor to Cox Automotive's Financial Solutions group, with additional support provided to other Solutions Groups as needed. This role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external subject matter experts to ensure comprehensive legal guidance across a variety of business matters.
The successful candidate will manage a high volume of commercial collection litigation and provide legal counsel on a broad range of issues impacting daily operations. Key responsibilities include interpreting rights under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), advising on risk mitigation and recovery strategies, and navigating complex litigation matters.

Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $159,400.00 - $265,600.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

- Familiarity with UCC and commercial collections.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage external legal resources.
- Bankruptcy expertise is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Provides legal counsel on a wide range of operational matters including commercial transactions, litigation, bankruptcy and creditors' rights.
- Manage a high volume of commercial collection litigation and support post-default account recovery efforts.
- Interpret and advise on rights under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and related risk mitigation strategies.
- Lead dispute resolution efforts, including settlement negotiations and agreement preparation.
- Support replevin actions.
- Maintain accurate case management reporting in Serengeti and develop standardized forms for high-volume litigation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external counsel to ensure timely and effective legal support.
- Deliver training to internal clients on relevant legal topics.
- Report material risks and exposures to Associate General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and a Juris doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in Indiana.
- 3+ years of legal experience.
- Strong knowledge of UCC, secured transactions and creditors' rights.
- Experience managing large caseloads and working cross-functionally.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and conflict resolution skills.
- A business partner, who likes working side-by-side with business teams and is receptive to opposing views.
- Ability to work in fast paced environment and travel up to 5%.

- Commercial litigation experience.
