You will closely monitor our cost development to accurately determine our standard cost used by various departments to steer our business. You will get into the details of our transport, port, and terminal cost to identify cost drivers. You will highlight your insights to various teams for their awareness and support them on related cost saving initiatives.
ResponsibilitiesClosely review the development of transport, port, and terminal cost to determine accurate standard costs for pricing (quotations to customers) and steering purposes (evaluation of shipment profitability)
Identify and highlight the root causes for changes in cost to Operations and Commercial teams
Become a subject matter expert for selected cost categories such as terminal, rail, truck, reefer, storage, supply & demand, and chassis
Analyze costs and volumes per vendor seeking for cost savings initiatives
Support cost saving initiatives
Oversee execution of maintaining FIS catalogues handled by GCC
This position is in the United States and requires eligibility to work in the United States and completion of the employment eligibility form required under federal law
Education & Experience: University Degree with 2+ years of work experience, preferably in the logistics industry.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; basic knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint.
Analytical: Strong attention to detail, with a focus on data accuracy, being able to identify discrepancies and to ensure high-quality outputs
Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, proactive, and demonstrates accountability and ownership.
Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, e.g., when explaining changes in cost and their underlying causes.
