Ameresco has an immediate opening for a Mobile BAS Project Manager.  The Mobile BAS Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the execution of building automation system (BAS) projects across multiple geographic locations.  This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, while maintaining high-quality standards and customer satisfaction.  The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically proficient in building systems, and comfortable traveling extensively to job sites.

Responsibilities:

Project Management & Execution

  • Manage all phases of BAS projects, including planning, design coordination, execution, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets and resource plans.
  • Track and report project progress, risks, and key performance metrics.
  • Ensure adherence to contractual scope, specifications, and company standards.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams.
  • Lead project meetings, provide status updates, and manage expectations.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to drive repeat business.

Technical Oversight

  • Oversee installation and integration of building automation systems (HVAC controls, lighting controls, energy management systems, etc.).
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Review Submittals, drawings, and system designs for accuracy and compliance.

Field Coordination

  • Travel to job sites (typically 50-75% or more) to monitor progress and ensure quality.
  • Coordinate activities with subcontractors, technicians, and commissioning agents.
  • Ensure safety compliance and adherence to site protocols.

Financial Management

  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
  • Approve expenses, track change orders, and improve project profitability.
  • Ensure timely billing, invoicing, and collections.

Risk & Compliance

  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with local codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Maintain proper project documentation and reporting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years project management experience, preferably in building automation, HVAC controls, or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of BAS platforms (e.g., Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, etc.)
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects across different locations.
  • Ability to travel extensively.

Additional Qualifications:

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
  • Experience with energy efficiency and smart building technologies.
  • Knowledge of networking, controls systems, and integration protocols (BACnet, Modbus, etc.)

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $106,000 – $134,000 (presented in good faith). In addition to base pay, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, and may be eligible for performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, or equity, depending on the role.

Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. This range supports our commitment to pay transparency and compliance with applicable laws. Compensation may vary by work location, including remote arrangements.
