Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Previsualization Artist to spearhead the visualization of cinematic storytelling, action sequences, and key creative moments throughout production. This role serves as a critical bridge between creative vision and execution, partnering closely with creative leadership, designers, artists, and production teams to develop compelling visual narratives before production begins.

The ideal candidate combines exceptional storytelling instincts with advanced 3D visualization skills and a deep understanding of cinematography, editing, and shot design. They are capable of independently driving complex sequences from concept through final previs while mentoring others and helping establish visualization best practices across projects.

Responsibilities
  • Create high-quality previsualization sequences that communicate story, performance, pacing, camera language, and cinematic intent.
  • Translate scripts, story treatments, creative briefs, and stakeholder feedback into clear and compelling visual sequences.
  • Drive shot design, camera blocking, and visual storytelling decisions for complex cinematic and action-driven sequences.
  • Collaborate with directors, creative leadership, production, design, animation, and art teams to align previs work with project goals.
  • Build and assemble environments, cameras, characters, and action sequences using 3D tools and real-time engines.
  • Create storyboards, animatics, and previs presentations to support creative reviews and production planning.
  • Identify storytelling, technical, and production challenges early and propose effective visual solutions.
  • Establish and maintain previs workflows, standards, and best practices.
  • Provide guidance, feedback, and mentorship to junior artists and external partners when applicable.
  • Present work to stakeholders and effectively communicate creative rationale behind visual decisions.
  • Support cinematic, marketing, gameplay, and transmedia initiatives as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of professional experience in previsualization, cinematics, storyboarding, animation, film, television, or game development.
  • Advanced proficiency in Unreal Engine, Maya, Blender, or comparable 3D visualization tools.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cinematic storytelling, shot composition, camera movement, and editorial pacing.
  • Strong understanding of cinematography, visual language, and film production workflows.
  • Proven ability to independently own previs sequences from concept through final delivery.
  • Experience collaborating directly with directors, creative leads, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, iterative production environments with evolving creative direction.
  • Delivers cinematic previs sequences that directly influence creative and production decisions.
  • Consistently translates abstract creative direction into actionable visual storytelling.
  • Identifies risks and opportunities before production, saving time and reducing downstream iteration.
  • Earns trust from creative leadership through strong judgment, collaboration, and execution.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in previs, cinematics, and visual storytelling.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience spearheading previs efforts for feature films, television, games, cinematics, or transmedia projects.
  • Familiarity with virtual production workflows and real-time cinematic pipelines.
  • Experience with motion capture, animation, and VFX integration.
  • Background in action, horror, thriller, science fiction, or large-scale cinematic storytelling.
  • Proficiency with editorial tools such as Adobe Premiere.
  • Experience adapting established intellectual property or franchise content.
  • Elevates storytelling quality through strong visual communication and cinematic expertise.
