Position Overview:
Contract Attorney

Play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day negotiation and drafting of changes to standard terms for clients of GTT.  Assist in managing and handling contract, amendment and service order form negotiations, drafting, administration and retention to ensure compliance with company practices, policies and legal requirements. This role requires a willingness and curiosity to learn how GTT conducts business today, a mindset of constant improvement, a focus on the client experience, a practical approach to risk mitigation, leadership abilities, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of contract law and GTT’s evolving business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a variety of contracts including client and vendor contracts, amendments, letters, and service order forms, service transfer or assignment agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and such other agreements as may be required.
  • Ensure contracts comply with company requirements, processes, policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments such as legal, finance, sales, commercial services, and operations to review and revise contract terms and conditions.
  • Provide advice, contract interpretation, and support to the business in monitoring and enforcing contract performance to ensure all parties fulfill their obligations and address any deviations or issues that arise.
  • Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations that affect contracts and advise the organization on necessary actions.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to contracts and contract negotiations.

Requirements:

  • Licensed/practicing attorney in the United States.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) working as a contract attorney or in a similar role in a company, within technology and/or telecommunications industry.
  • Knowledge of network access, telecom hardware/software contracts – highly beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of contract law principles and legal terminology.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing contract negotiations.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and MS Office Suite.

  • Results Orientation: Knowledge of the importance of meeting or exceeding established targets; ability to drive critical activities to completion.
  • Commercial Law: Knowledge of domestic and international laws governing commerce; ability to interpret and take action on the aspects of such laws that impact the business.

The salary for this position is $100,000-$150,000 depending on relevant skills and experience.
