Who is Credible?

We are a marketplace where users can compare personalized, prequalified rates and quotes from multiple lenders and carriers, for student loans, mortgages, personal loans, and insurance.

We’re challenging the status quo by giving power to the consumer. We believe in a world where ‘ethical’, ‘lending’, and ‘insurance’ can coexist, so we set out to build innovative platforms that actually work for customers. Our mission is to help people find the best loan or insurance policy possible.

We believe researching and buying loans or insurance shouldn’t be confusing or complex, so we’ve focused on simplicity. We’ve created the only unbiased loan and insurance buying process out there, which makes finding options straightforward and clear.

About the role
Credible is looking for a contract attorney for a short term (2 month) full-time (up to 40 hours per week) assignment. Primary responsibilities include structuring, drafting and negotiating contracts with a host of financial service, technology and online marketing companies.

In this role you will:

You will be a primary point of contact for drafting, negotiating, reviewing, and finalizing new and amended partnership and distribution agreements in a fast-paced and collaborative in-house environment

  • Utilize existing systems and applications for creating, editing, storing, tracking, administering and managing new and amended contracts; and

  • Active and in good standing member of a US State Bar
  • JD from an ABA accredited law school
  • 4+ years of legal experience (a combination of law firm and in-house experience focused on consumer financial services, technology licensing and data privacy laws and regulations would be ideal but not required)
  • Detail-oriented project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing projects to effective resolution.   Proven ability to work with teams of multiple stakeholders as well as independently with limited guidance as a natural self-starter
  • Comfortable negotiating ambiguity and conflicting priorities in a dynamic environment; and
  • Exceptional professionalism; strong work ethic; sense of humor; and the flexibility needed to thrive in an innovative and fast-paced business environment

  • Working knowledge of financial services laws and regulations (e.g., TILA and Reg. Z, ECOA and Reg. B, FCRA and RESPA), privacy (e.g., GLBA and CCPA), data security, consumer protection laws and regulations and risk management
