Job Description:

The Competitive Intelligence Coordinator will work closely with Research & Information Services and Marketing & Business Development groups. The coordinator will collect, organize and provide information to internal decision makers to drive innovative operational and strategic business decisions.  Specific duties will include ongoing research to identify trends, creating business intelligence reports of research findings for development and strategy meetings, proactively tracking, monitoring and analyzing data on firm practices and industry areas, and supporting marketing and awareness efforts of the competitive intelligence services.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Consult with internal clients to interpret and develop research requirements based on firm priorities

  • Execute ongoing and transactional research and analysis projects for firm management

  • Proactively track, monitor, analyze and report data on firm practice and industry areas

  • Create business intelligence reports and disseminate using various methods; including written, verbal and by electronic means

  • Maintain Internal CI customer and outside vendor relationships

  • Assist in maintaining the CI space on the firm intranet, by proactively supplying current awareness, informational reports and statistics.  This includes the archival of information and making these materials available to internal customers

  • Through professional development and regular research, stay abreast to latest search tools, information resources and search techniques; keeping supervisor informed of potential additions or enhancements to research services

  • Maintain communication with supervisor and other staff re ongoing projects

  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.
     

 Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of research methodology and electronic legal and business resources

  • Experience with performing due diligence research and analysis in a law firm or legal industry role

  • Knowledge of tools such as Lexis/Nexis, D&B Hoovers, CourtLink, AtVantage, CapitallQ, Hoover’s, and ALM Research Online.

  • Strong organizational and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks under deadlines

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and work accurately under pressure
     

 Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required

  • 1+ years’ experience conducting research preferably in a law firm or financial services company 

The Compensation range for this role is 21.87 to 30.43 USD per hour and may be eligible for an annual bonus. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's location, skills, experience and qualifications.
