The CLH VP National Business Line – CleanPack Services is responsible for achieving targeted revenue growth and margin performance for the Clean Pack line of business. This role serves as the subject matter expert in managing lab packs and hazardous waste programs, and disposal services across North America.

This leader brings deep expertise in the safe packaging, segregation, transportation, and disposal of small-quantity hazardous waste streams, including materials generated in laboratories, education, healthcare, municipalities, and retail environments. The role requires strong knowledge of DOT, EPA/RCRA, and state regulatory requirements, along with operational strategies for efficient waste consolidation, profiling, and final disposition at Clean Harbors’ network of treatment, storage, and disposal facilities (TSDFs).

The position partners closely with sales, field operations, and disposal facilities to design cost-effective, compliant, and scalable waste programs while supporting growth in lab pack services and retail compliance solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Drive revenue growth for CleanPack services, including municipal contracts, retail programs, and laboratory services. 
  • Develop national strategies to expand service offerings in permanent facilities and CleanPack programs.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for CleanPack services, including lab packing, chemical segregation, compatibility, and disposal methods. 
  • Develop technical work plans for waste handling, packaging, transportation, and disposal for small- to mid-volume waste streams. 
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of TSDF capabilities and optimize waste routing for cost, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Manage cost designs and pricing strategies for projects, including municipal contracts and retail waste programs. 
  • Develop detailed cost build-ups including labor, materials, transportation, disposal, and contingency factors. 
  • Evaluate margins, identify pricing risks, and ensure competitive and profitable proposals.
  • Support sales teams as the technical expert in CleanPack services, including RFP responses, proposals, and client presentations. 
  • Provide oversight and direction to Line of Business (LOB) Sales Specialists focused on CleanPack growth. 
  • Develop standardized sales tools, technical presentations, and training materials.
  • Oversee quality, compliance, and profitability of CleanPack programs nationwide. 
  • Analyze business performance trends, identify gaps, and implement improvement strategies. 
  • May be assigned additional duties not listed above based on business needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering or Business Administration required.
  • 7–10+ years of experience in hazardous waste management or CleanPack/lab packing services.
  • Strong knowledge of RCRA, DOT, EPA, and state/local regulations.
  • Deep understanding of waste profiling, compatibility, segregation, and disposal methods.
  • Ability to develop and interpret financial models, cost estimates, and pricing strategies. 
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. 
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities. 
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, CRM tools, etc).
  • Ability to travel 25-50%.
