Job Description:

At Regions, the Capital Markets Assistant General Counsel primarily manages legal and documentation issues for the Real Estate Capital Markets (RECM) team and closely interacts with other legal and compliance functions within Capital Markets.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provides legal support and guidance to the RECM team, with a particular emphasis on document negotiation, outside counsel management, and assistance to the underwriting staff with respect to the legal oversight of RECM’s involvement in Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA) loans, Freddie Mac loans, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) loans and other RECM products

  • Ensures adherence to policies and procedures

  • Ensures legal adherence to regulatory requirements

  • Works effectively within Regions' corporate governance practices and policies to ensure potential risks are appropriately addressed, and Regions' legal/reputational issues and shareholder objectives are covered

  • Remains up to date with market trends

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

This position is incentive eligible.

Requirements

  • Law degree

  • Six (6) years of commercial real estate lending legal experience in the financial services industry, or at a law firm with strong knowledge of bank regulations or other relevant practical legal experience

  • Licensed in good standing to practice law in at least one jurisdiction

  • Knowledge of the legal and regulatory requirements related to commercial real estate

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

Job Range Target:

Minimum:

$110,152.35 USD

Median:

$178,332.00 USD

Incentive Pay Plans:

This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive plan. Employees have the potential to receive a discretionary award based on performance against defined metrics and goals.Opportunity to participate in the Long Term Incentive Plan.
