Job Description:

The Job/What You’ll Do:

The Business Solutions Lead serves as a senior individual contributor responsible for leading business transformation initiatives that improve operational processes, data quality, technology capabilities, and organizational effectiveness. This role bridges business strategy, operations, data, and technology by identifying opportunities, defining scalable solutions, and guiding initiatives from concept through implementation and value realization. The Business Solutions Lead works across the full solution lifecycle - from problem definition and current-state assessment through requirements, delivery, implementation, and post-production monitoring. The role develops detailed business, functional, technical, process, and data requirements; defines data quality expectations and key performance indicators (KPIs); and ensures requirements are traceable to business outcomes.

Working across business stakeholders, Product Engineering, and Data teams, this role coordinates solution design and delivery, resolves cross-functional dependencies, and provides the documentation and decision structure needed to move initiatives from concept to production. The Business Solutions Lead partners closely with Product Engineering and Data teams to ensure solutions are technically actionable, data requirements are explicit, and delivered capabilities align with business processes and operating needs.

This position requires strong business analysis, systems thinking, process design, data fluency, and project leadership capabilities. The successful candidate can create clarity in complex environments, lead cross-functional initiatives without direct authority, and drive sustainable improvements that enhance scalability, control, efficiency, and user experience.

We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to either our Phoenix, AZ or Charlotte, NC office.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead business data initiatives from problem definition through implementation and post-production value realization, establishing scope, outcomes, requirements, milestones, dependencies, risks, and success measures.
  • Partner with stakeholders to assess current-state processes, systems, data flows, controls, and operating models; develop future-state solutions that improve efficiency, risk management, user experience, and business outcomes. Develop detailed technical and solution requirements, including business rules, system behaviors, integrations, interfaces, controls, exception handling, non-functional needs, and acceptance criteria.
  • Define data requirements for technology and process solutions, including source data, data definitions, lineage, transformations, reconciliation needs, completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and other process dependent data quality standards.
  • Partner with Product Engineering and Data teams throughout solution design and delivery to clarify requirements, evaluate tradeoffs, resolve issues, and ensure implementation achieves  intended business outcomes and expected cost savings.
  • Analyze current-state business processes and data flows; design future-state processes and requirements that improve efficiency, scalability, control, data quality, and user experience.
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders across Trade Operations, Product, Engineering, Data, Risk, Compliance, and other teams as appropriate, driving decisions and maintaining alignment throughout the initiative lifecycle.
  • Provide project leadership for assigned initiatives, including work planning, milestone and dependency management, risk and issue tracking, decision management, status reporting, and escalation of delivery barriers.
  • Create and maintain high-quality solution documentation, including business requirements, technical requirements, process maps, data definitions, decision logs, traceability, operating procedures, test scenarios, and implementation artifacts.
  • Define KPIs, operational metrics, data quality measures, and value-realization measures before implementation to establish clear expectations for solution performance and business impact.
  • Lead business validation, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), production readiness, implementation coordination, and post-implementation stabilization, ensuring delivered capabilities meet documented requirements and operating needs.
  • Monitor production performance, KPIs, data quality, adoption, stakeholder feedback, and realized business value after implementation; identify gaps and coordinate corrective actions or continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Identify solution, process, and data risks early; facilitate decisions and recommendations that balance business value, technical feasibility, delivery complexity, controls, and long-term maintainability.
  • Serve as a Business Solutions subject matter expert, promoting consistent requirements practices, documentation standards, solution governance, and reusable approaches across business technology initiatives.
  •  Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience translating complex business needs into detailed functional, technical, process, and data requirements for Engineering and Data teams.
  • Strong understanding of the technology delivery lifecycle, including solution design, requirements, development, testing, implementation, production support, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience defining data requirements and data quality expectations, including data definitions, transformations, validation, reconciliation, completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives and coordinate stakeholders without direct management authority.
  • Strong analytical, systems thinking, process design, documentation, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to connect business processes, data, and technology.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to translate between business and technical audiences and influence decisions at multiple organizational levels.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data/Analytics, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business solutions, business analysis, technology delivery, data transformation, process transformation, product delivery, consulting, or a related discipline within complex organizations.
  • Experience with business process mapping, process redesign, operating model improvement, or data/process transformation initiatives.
  • Experience partnering directly with Data and Product Engineering, Analytics, or Data Governance teams to deliver enterprise technology solutions.
  • Experience leading requirements traceability, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), production readiness, implementation, and post-production monitoring activities.
  • Experience with SQL, data analysis, reporting, or analytics platforms such as Power BI or Tableau sufficient to validate data, investigate issues, and define measurable outcomes.
