The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving new business growth within an assigned portfolio of target accounts. This role focuses on identifying, developing, and securing new customer relationships by positioning Henny Penny’s products and services as the preferred solution for prospective partners who do not yet do business with us. Success in this role directly contributes to revenue growth and expands Henny Penny’s presence in the foodservice industry.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Achieve or exceed new business sales goals by strategically targeting and converting new customers.

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans for assigned prospect accounts—including resource planning, revenue forecasting, identifying key decision makers, and building influential relationships.

  • Drive the full sales cycle, securing first appointments, advancing opportunities, delivering consultative presentations, and closing new business.

  • Communicate the value of Henny Penny solutions by deeply understanding customer needs and demonstrating how our products and services meet those needs better than competitors.

  • Maintain strong knowledge of Henny Penny products and competitive products to confidently address objections and articulate clear value differentiation.

  • Stay current on competitive landscape and industry trends within the foodservice and restaurant industry.

  • Partner cross‑functionally with Marketing, Engineering, Product Strategy, and other teams to support sales efforts and ensure seamless customer engagement.

  • Provide accurate forecasting, customer insights, competitive intelligence, and market feedback to leadership.

  • Engage effectively with executive‑level contacts, building trust and influencing decision‑making.

  • Manage multiple prospects simultaneously while keeping opportunities organized and moving forward.

  • Model the Company Values and Expected Behaviors in all interactions.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • 5–7 years of proven new business development experience, ideally in the foodservice equipment industry.

  • A hunter mentality—self‑driven, motivated, and committed to achieving results.

  • Strong prospecting, selling, negotiating, and closing skills.

  • Excellent time management, organization, and forecasting abilities.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including comfort presenting to executive audiences.

  • Proficiency with common business technologies, including Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and web-based tools.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.

  • Willingness to travel up to 75%.

  • Ability to lift or carry a laptop/iPad and sales materials up to 25 lbs.
