BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE
Location: Eden Prairie, MN | Hybrid | Remote
Schedule: Full-Time
Salary: $150,000 – $180,000 (based on experience)

EVS is seeking a Business Development Executive to drive strategic growth across the power, utilities, and renewable energy sectors. This is a high-impact, client-facing role for a seasoned professional who excels at building relationships, identifying opportunities, and closing complex, high-value deals.

You’ll play a critical role in expanding EVS’s presence with utilities, developers, and EPC partners while collaborating internally to position technical solutions that meet evolving market needs.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Own and execute the business development strategy across utilities, renewable energy, and power infrastructure markets.
  • Develop and communicate a clear, forward-looking growth strategy aligned with company objectives.
  • Identify, pursue, and close high-value opportunities across power delivery, generation, and renewable energy sectors.
  • Build, manage, and forecast a strong pipeline of opportunities in collaboration with internal leadership.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with IOUs, ISOs, municipals, co-ops, developers, and EPC partners.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by understanding their needs and positioning EVS solutions effectively.
  • Create and execute account growth strategies to expand existing client relationships.
  • Leverage existing networks while building new connections to strengthen market presence.
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics to identify emerging opportunities.
  • Represent EVS at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to promote brand visibility and growth.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and leadership teams to align client strategy and technical solutions.
  • Partner with marketing to ensure strong brand positioning across proposals, SOQs, and digital channels.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality presentations and business plans for executive leadership and clients.
  • Own and manage CRM activity, ensuring accurate tracking of opportunities and client engagement.
  • Maintain visibility into pipeline health, conversion metrics, and key pursuits.
  • Drive consistency and accountability in CRM usage across stakeholders.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in business development within the power, utilities, or energy sector.
  • Proven experience working with utilities including IOUs, ISOs, municipals, and co-ops.
  • Strong understanding of power generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
  • Demonstrated success developing and managing opportunity pipelines in a technical or engineering environment.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy, grid modernization, interconnection, data centers, or energy transition initiatives.
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to develop and execute business plans.
  • Executive presence with exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build trust and operate effectively in a high-visibility, client-facing role.
  • Self-starter mindset with strong ownership, accountability, and results orientation.
  • Established network within utilities, solar, BESS, data center developers, or EPC organizations is a strong plus.
