Job Description

The Business Analyst will serve as a critical bridge between business strategy and technology execution. This role translates strategic business objectives into actionable business requirements, gathers and synthesizes input from cross-functional partners across Marketing, Operations, Product, Sales, and Customer Experience, and ensures alignment through the full project lifecycle—from concept and design through IT development, testing, and deployment.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and communication skills with a deep understanding of marketing processes, business requirements management, and agile delivery frameworks. This individual ensures that IT solutions effectively meet business needs, improve efficiency, and drive measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Definition

  • Partner with business leaders to understand strategic objectives and translate them into clear, measurable business requirements
  • Lead the end-to-end business requirements process—facilitating workshops, interviews, and documentation with Marketing, Operations, Sales, and Product teams
  • Develop and maintain business requirement documents (BRDs) and process flows to inform IT development
  • Ensure alignment between business needs and platform capabilities across multiple systems (CRM, MarTech, analytics, etc.)
  • Identify business process gaps and recommend process improvements or automation opportunities

Collaboration with IT & Platform Teams

  • Partner with Platform Owners and Product Managers to translate business requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria in Jira or equivalent tools
  • Lead backlog grooming and prioritization sessions with IT, ensuring readiness for sprints and releases
  • Collaborate with developers and QA testers to validate functionality against requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Support issue resolution, defect triage, and clarification throughout development and testing
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure business alignment throughout the development lifecycle

Cross-Functional Communication & Governance

  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure transparency, alignment, and timely decision-making
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to business and IT stakeholders through structured updates and governance meetings
  • Support project governance documentation, approvals, and change management processes
  • Ensure traceability from strategic goals through requirements, design, and delivery

Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role within a technology-driven or marketing-focused organization
  • Proven ability to translate complex business processes into functional and technical documentation
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum frameworks, user story creation, backlog management, and grooming
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Asana, or Smartsheet
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment

Additional Information

BONUS POINTS FOR:

  • Familiarity with MarTech, CRM, or campaign management platforms (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Experience with data analytics, reporting, and customer lifecycle or digital experience projects
  • Understanding of end-to-end marketing operations workflows and system dependencies
