The Billing Specialist I is an entry-level role supporting the billing team by calling vendors to request invoices and helping ensure billing records are complete and accurate. This position is phone-heavy and ideal for someone who is comfortable talking with vendors, following up regularly, and performing basic data entry.
No prior billing experience is required - we are looking for someone reliable, organized, and eager to learn.

Compensation:
Hourly pay rate is in the range of $16.59 - $24.86/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
Benefits:
Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of 6.67 hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities
- Make frequent outbound phone calls to vendors to request missing or outstanding invoices
- Follow up with vendors until invoices are received and questions are answered
- Accurately record call notes and invoice details in internal systems
- Assist with basic invoice review and data entry
- Stay organized while tracking multiple follow-ups at once
- Work closely with the billing team and supervisor for guidance and support
- Complete repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and consistency
What a Typical Day Looks Like
- Calling vendors and leaving voicemails
- Tracking who has and hasn't sent invoices
- Entering invoice information into the system
- Following up on previous calls or emails
- Asking questions and learning billing processes with supervisor support
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Comfortable being on the phone for much of the day
- Clear, professional communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Suites)
- Ability to stay organized and follow instructions

- Any customer service, call-center, administrative, or office experience
- Data entry or clerical experience
- Experience working with vendors or customers
