Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking Industrial Engineers (Associate or Experienced) to join the Propulsion South Carolina (PSC) team in North Charleston, SC.
The PSC Industrial Engineering team is an organization of highly skilled women and men responsible for applying industrial engineering techniques and concepts to optimize production system design, operational efficiency and after-market services for nacelle structures including the 737MAX inlet, 787 engine build up, and future nacelle production systems. This position is as a member of a cross functional Integrated Build Team on the factory floor.
A successful candidate will have a strong desire to be out in the factory, interacting with mechanics and other engineers, directly supporting the production system. In Industrial Engineering, we need highly responsible professionals committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and integrity. Experience in a high rate production environment (sub 2hr takt time) is preferred.
Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate (Level 2) or Experienced (Level 3) Industrial Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Applies industrial engineering concepts, approaches and techniques to product, process and services to meet program requirements.
  • Supports, maintains and develops the development of plant and equipment layouts, capacity plans, accident prevention measures, sequencing of operations and work flows.
  • Evaluates new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations.
  • Designs, maintains, and optimizes the production system by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel.
  • Conducts work flow design and analysis.
  • Assists with research, design, development, improvement, and implementation of processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, for large scale systems integration and asset utilization.
  • Develops and implements plans and programs for facility/factory modifications and revisions to operating methods.
  • Documents product assembly instructions and standardizes assembly practices.
  • Prepares operations plans, includes work statement analysis, budgeting and forecasts, capacity and constraint analysis and production change, to ensure technical goals and objectives are met.
  • Supports execution planning by using project management, planning and scheduling and shop load practices. Provides production, supply chain logistics, performance visibility and recovery planning support.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in course of study in industrial engineering or related field.
  • 2 or more years related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in a high rate production environment (sub 2hr takt time).
  • Experience in aerospace production.
  • Experience with scheduling in Enterprise Resource Planning systems.
  • SQL
  • Mini-tab or advanced Excel

Summary Pay Range:
  • Associate (Level 2): $83,300 - $112,700
  • Experienced (Level 3): $100,300 - $135,700
