This role is ideal for a lawyer with 2-4 years of experience who is eager to expand their skills in commercial contracting, corporate governance, and cross-functional legal support. You’ll work closely with the General Counsel and broader legal team to support Sei Labs’ growth, while building your own skill set in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
The Associate Legal Counsel will focus primarily on commercial agreements and general corporate matters, helping to establish standard SLAs, streamline contract workflows, and support the legal team in managing day-to-day operations. At the same time, this role provides meaningful exposure to complex commercial and regulatory issues, with ample room for growth into broader areas of blockchain, fintech, and corporate law.
What You'll Do
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements (e.g., SaaS, vendor, services, partnership, licensing).
- Develop and maintain standard SLAs, templates, and playbooks to drive efficiency in legal operations.
- Support entity management and corporate governance, including drafting board consents, maintaining corporate records, and assisting with cross-border matters.
- Collaborate with business teams (BD, Finance, Product, Engineering) to address legal issues in commercial projects.
- Partner with senior lawyers on complex matters, including regulatory, compliance, and strategic deals.
- Contribute to the development of scalable legal processes to “keep the trains running” across the company.
Who You Are
- J.D. from an accredited law school; licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 2–4 years of relevant legal experience, ideally as an associate at a law firm or in-house at a SaaS/technology company.
- Strong drafting and negotiating skills with attention to detail in commercial contracts.
- Some exposure to corporate governance preferred; curiosity about blockchain and emerging technology a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
