Job DescriptionGPLA Structural Engineers and Builders, part of the DPR Family of Companies, is seeking an Associate Electrical Designer.

Job Summary:
Responsible for the creation of electrical drawings, specifications, and calculations throughout all phases of project design under close supervision. Assists in developing basic electrical layouts and system documentation using fundamental knowledge of electrical principles and codes. Collaborates with engineers, modelers, and detailers to produce accurate 2D and 3D electrical models using CAD tools while learning industry standards and design practices. Supports construction administration activities as directed.
Key Responsibilities:
Assists in the production of electrical drawings, specifications, and calculations with tasks that are specific and clearly defined.
Supports development of basic electrical layouts and system documentation using foundational knowledge of electrical codes and standards.
Performs basic electrical calculations and drafting tasks with guidance from engineers and senior designers.
Supports construction administration activities, including shop drawing review and response to RFIs, under supervision.
Utilizes CAD software and related tools to create 2D drawings and assist with 3D electrical modeling.
Collaborates with engineers, modelers, and detailers to support timely and coordinated project delivery.
Incorporates feedback and guidance to build technical skills and improve design quality.
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, architectural engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
Work Experience:
No experience required.
Certifications and Licenses:
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification in progress or intent to pursue preferred.
