Position Summary
We’re currently looking for an Assistant Controller to join our Firestone Fibers and Textiles (FSFT) team in Kings Mountain, NC.
This role will be responsible for involvement in all finance activities at FSFT including Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Tax Reporting. The role also provides financial guidance and support to other functions such as Treasury, Inventory Control, Purchasing, Logistics, etc. The role is also responsible for aiding in establishing and maintaining adequate control over all financial transactions and reporting as well as providing accurate and meaningful management reports to local and Corporate Management.
Firestone Fibers and Textiles (FSFT) is owned by Bridgestone Americas and manufactures Tire Cord, Liners, and Fabrics which are used in construction of tires and other commercial applications.
Responsibilities

Independently lead aspects of Financial Close, Reporting and Financial Planning and Analysis while assisting in establishing and maintaining a robust framework for financial risk management

Coordinating and directing the preparation of the annual budget, long-term planning, financial forecasts, and creating and analyzing comparison/variance reporting

Aid management in analysis of inventory levels, fixed assets and capital expenditures, cost management, profit improvement actions, CBA negotiations, product pricing, and contractual agreements

Review and analyze product level profit margins for accurate costing/pricing of products

Serve as primary back-up for Controller when necessary to support business continuity

Implement process improvements such as introducing Bridgestone best practices to reduce workload, reduce risk, standardize, and automate processes, improve data driven insights, and introduce new solutions
Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and CPA or MBA preferred

Minimum 5 years of experience in controlling, financial planning and analysis, budgets, and forecasts

Minimum 2-3 years in manufacturing environment preferred

Experience in financial closing cycles

Experience developing financial models and capital expenditure models

Expertise in Microsoft Office primarily Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
