We’re actively seeking a talented Appian Engineer to join our Workflow team in Charlotte, NC.

As an Appian Engineer, you'll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by designing, developing, and supporting enterprise workflow and business process solutions that enable critical Executive Benefits capabilities. You will join a team of technology professionals within the CMD Technology division supporting Executive Benefits New Business, partnering with software engineers, business analysts, product owners, architects, and operations teams to deliver solutions that improve business efficiency, customer experience, and operational effectiveness.

How You Will Help Move Us Forward
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy Appian solutions that support business process automation and workflow modernization initiatives.
  • Partner with product owners, business analysts, architects, and development teams to deliver scalable and maintainable applications.
  • Develop Appian components including user interfaces, process models, record types, integrations, business rules, and data structures.
  • Build and support integrations with enterprise systems, databases, cloud platforms, and APIs.
  • Participate in Agile delivery activities including solution design, estimation, sprint planning, testing, and release execution.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and implement solutions that improve performance, reliability, and user experience.
  • Support platform upgrades, application enhancements, and adoption of new Appian capabilities.
  • Contribute to development standards, code reviews, and continuous improvement efforts to maintain high-quality solutions.
     
The Experience You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on Appian development experience.
  • Experience designing and building workflow applications using Appian.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Appian SAIL Interfaces
    • Process Models
    • Record Types
    • Expression Rules
    • Integrations and Web APIs
    • Security and Application Configuration
  • Experience integrating Appian with enterprise applications, databases, and cloud services.
  • Familiarity with SQL and relational data modeling concepts.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across business and technology teams.
What Makes You Stand Out
  • Appian Certified Associate Developer or Appian Certified Senior Developer certification.
  • Experience implementing business process automation or workflow modernization initiatives.
  • Experience with AI-enabled workflows, intelligent document processing, or automation technologies.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, Snowflake, REST APIs, Kafka, MuleSoft, or event-driven integrations.
  • Experience in insurance, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience supporting production applications and participating in application lifecycle management activities.
  • Experience mentoring other developers and contributing to development best practices.

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$113,490.00 - $138,710.00
